Market for Coco?

Just thinking that since we traded for Linebrink, could we possibly trade Cordero?

A number of teams are looking for relief help, maybe we could get a stick in a deal.

Dye to Brewers, Cordero + Gwynn to Philly, Rowand back to Chicago?

There would be a number of possibilities, but it wouldn't suprise me if Coco is dealt. We need a shakeup.

Coco is an expiring contract. Unless he is re-signed before a deal is made, you won't get a whole lot for him.

But, teams are drooling over Dotel and Gagne, so why not check the market?

Getting 2 months of Dye for 2 months of Cordero would be a coup, IMO. The guys OPS is over 1.000 since the break, and his OPS after the break (2004-2006) is .913.

Looks alot better than watching Weeks struggle.

We just traded 3 good prospects for a reliever not as good as Coco if all we get in return is an outfielder who's a free agent after the season who is having a bad year Doug Melvin will get his house egged by me personally.

i think i'd rather just keep Cordero, let him walk and get 2 picks for him. The brewers system is getting really thin now that most of the top prospects are in Milwaukee and our #1 prospect was traded for a reliever. We could really use a nice 5 or 6 picks in the first 2+ rounds next June to restock our minor league talent.

Houston needs a closer (unless they think Lidge can do the job). Maybe they could package Cordero with a spare part (Mench perhaps) and a middling prospect (someone like Nix?) for Carlos Lee? That would give them the bat that they need in LF.

If Melvin could swing a deal, I'd love to see an improvement in what we used to call a bullpen.

Don't shoot me for this, but here goes:

Milwaukee gets: Chad Cordero

Washington gets: Gwynn, Vargas, Eithier

Dodgers get: F.Cordero

We'd still be able to start Gallardo, Capuano, Suppan, Bush, and Parra/Villy. We get our closer for the future for parts that shouldn't be essential to our future.

I hear LA won't part with Loney or Kemp, so Eithier was the logical choice. The Nats don't need a third baseman, so La Roche wouln''t work either.

Give up our closer, one of the only starters whos winning, and a prospect? And all we get is a closer?

How about

Milwaukee Gets: Chad Cordero

Washington gets: Gwynn, Eithier, Jackson

Dodgers get: Turnbow, Prospect
