What are the chances Bill Hall is dealt?

I hate to even think about this since I LOVE Bill Hall, but I am getting nervous with all of this trade talk that Bill E. might be one of the players who could get dealt due to his high value and appeal to other clubs. I have no other reason to think this, except for the fact that I have given up having any expectations of this club.

I know that nobody on the team is untouchable, so I won't be naive to think he wouldn't be traded at some point. I have not seen his name come up much in the trade rumors, so maybe there is a reason he is not being mentioned. Maybe it is just all the Gwynn Jr. talk, maybe it is the new contract, maybe it is his recent injury, or maybe his value is just lower now thatn the team feels it could be. I would welcome to see other people comment on what they think the odds are of Hall getting dealt this year, no matter how sad it may make me.

Id say the chances are zero.

They wouldnt trade him, he just signed that deal, he has improved a lot in CF, and even though he is having a down year. It has been decent and he could have a little better numbers but was hurt for 2 1/2 weeks. He will be fine, no need to trade him. If they did I would be very pissed.

I just bought my kid a Hall jersey because of that new contract. I'd be ticked, if for no other reason, as well http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Im more afraid of Weeks being part of a Gagne deal. If the Brewers cant get Gagne for Turnbow and Gwynn plus some mid level prospect like Escobar its not worth doing. We should be looking past this season. This team is young and will have several years to compete for championships.

There is a better chance of me pulling up to your house in a Hummer limo with Jessica Alba/Biel on each arm with the model of your choice right behind us. Now that i think of it, if it would take Bill being traded for this to happen, i will pack his bags and move him myself.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Done deal!

More seriously, I just have this bad feeling that a player I really like (or at least want to like) is going to be on another team by the end of the day today. Probably just trade-deadline jitters.

i wouldn't necessarily say he'd never be traded, but i don't see what could really be improved. he's having a down year vs. last year, so wouldn't fetch as much value (plus we all know it's only about getting used to CF), and he's still basically cheap for the next four years. i don't see what sort of return we could get that could match or better those factors.

plus it goes against the Bill Bean model (not that Melvin is necessarily following it) that we don't really have a CF with star potential to take Hall's place should he leave.

if the idea was to trade him for some big-$ star player, it would probably make more sense to bid for one on the FA market instead, especially considering there are some good CFers on the market this offseason.
