Jack is REALLY back (24 to resume in 2014)!

DSFastball55

There's a reason there haven't been any postings in a month, it has been a very mediocre season at best. The whole stroy line between the CTU woman and her ex-boyfriend is a waste of time. Everyone I know who watches the show could care less waht happens to her as long as it ends. Beyond that, too much dialogue and too many cliche/ 24 formula plot lines (Of course the CTU boss has to always question Jack and not listen to his ideas.) I mean really...how long will it take for Kim to be kidnapped again?

Maybe we're witnessing a shark jumping and we just don't know it yet. I'm too invested to turn away now, but I don't look forward to it nearly as much as I have in past seasons.

This whole thing with the Dana Walsh character = Kim & the Mountain Lion from season 3 (3, right?). It's gone on to a silly length now, and you could see it heading in that direction from the beginning...

I'm a huge 24 fan but kinda just "meh" on this season. I hope it turns around. LAst season was a great return to form.

And, re: Agent Pierce, I have it on good authority that he is NOT coming back this year. Although I'd love to be wrong.

season 2 for Kim vs. Mountain Lion

I'm thinking they just are using the Dana Walsh story line as filler for the times when Jack is traveling around NYC. I hope not, though, as that's a waste. I really hope it's actually going to go someplace along with the plot.

But, yeah, this season has been typical Jack Bauer formula as past seasons.

I still love it, though, and will still watch.

The mountain lion expedition at least gave us the Kim in tank top scene, so I never could completely hate it!

This season has fizzled some from a decent start. I don't know one person who doesn't hate the side storyline, and I hate more that they drug Cole into that story now. I was hoping for a better role for him, working directly with Jack more.

At this point though, it's pretty hard for the show to be inventive or as good as it was, so I pretty much accept that going in, and it tends to not frustrate me like other shows.

I agree, we have to accept the general flow of the season- you can't really top the threats in seasons past or have many new plot twists. But they could have had better actors and/or characters than they have this season. Jack's father, Jon Voght, a few oithers I could name. Just seems like this season is a B list at best.

I'll second what everyone is saying. Every time I see a scene with Dana Walsh I want to pull my hair out. I know I am supposed to hate her, but its really awful.

Not that I like Freddie Prinze, but he is a decent name and I feel like the writers are really wasting his character.

That said I still love the show and I will watch it religiously even if this has not been one of the better seasons thus far.

PS: I want to give a big heck yeah to whoever mentioned Elisha Cuthbert in a tank top. I wish she would come back for more scenes like that.

It seems like every season has just an obnoxious, nothing to do with anything story line that takes away from the good part. Like Wayne Palmer and Julia from awhile ago, and pretty much everything with Sherry Palmer. I'm hoping this thing with Dana is over now that that one dude is dead and her ex is shot. They'd better not try to have her ex be some good guy now after all that he's done.

It's not even close to over. I haven't watched tonight's yet, but you know they're going to have to try to save the ex and then cover up what happened and their involvement, and slowly people will start asking questions, that they'll try to deflect. They'll be dragging this out for some time yet.

Okay, so, CTU has had like 47 moles in the last 8 years. Yet, someone with a made up identity still gets hired to run operations? AH!

Just watched Monday's episode on the DVR. I may be a 24 apologist but I thought this weeks episode was pretty solid. I still don't like the Dana Walsh storyline, but at least they paid less attention to her and there were some good surprises this week.

I thought this week's episode was pretty good too, although I'm also an apologist.

I do have to nitpick a little though. The whole "great job everyone" by Hastings, when all they did was get a visual on the suspects while the girl was still two minutes away, just screamed that something was about to happen. I know they have to set it up somehow, but geez, no one (especially the guy in charge) should be breathing a sigh of relief until they stop the threat. Just way too obvious.

I don't think I would have guessed that person as a possible mole. But I guess that's part of the fun of watching 24. On a side note, I reminisced with my husband during tonight's episode about how much we used to detest Chloe--she's much more fun to watch now.

Gotta love the patented Chloe scowl. And pulling a gun on someone, that was so awkward and funny of her. I liked the episode and did not expect Dana to be the mole.

This season has been full of things that have been done in past seasons, but I think the past few weeks have helped turn the season up a notch.

Really!! I still don't get her at all. It just seems like really bad acting to me. Either that, or her character reminds me of a female Napoleon Dynamite...."Cause I said so......Gosh!"

Moving into the 'demonstrating our power' terrorist act on American soil portion of the season, which means there's still the matter of the annual government mole (my $ is on the Presidential advisor who tried to set up Renee Walker as a scapegoat last ep.) & identification of the real bad guy for this season. Well, that, and an Agent Pierce sighting.

Not all that impressed with this season, but will still tune in after the much-needed return of 'Chuck' to my Monday evening TV lineup.

Still the weak-spot in the Chuck-24-Castle Monday night TV schedule.

At the end of tonight's episode I had three words: "ARE YOU SERIOUS!"

One of the worst side stories in 24 history just became awesome.

Awesome if you don't think about the massive plot holes it opens up from the previous episodes. Ugg, Dana being a mole makes about zero sense. If she has been in contact with the enemy team of soldiers throughout the day so far I am sure she would keep disappearing to deal with her personal problems instead of having them take care of it. She was willing to kill her former boyfriend and his probation officer in the end. Why not just have the bad guys wipe them out or kill them when they were in her apartment. The bad guys would rather do that then have her running off into the night and potentially blowing her cover over and over again. I am sure the writers are trying to throw us off, but we shouldn't have to completely suspend logic. Just really lazy writing in my opinion.

And could that ending have been more cliché? The armor wont hold...yes it will...no it wont...run for it. I know they were trying to make that an exciting episode, but with 20 minutes to go I could pretty much tell you what was going to happen. I feel like I have been saying that a lot this season.
