I think what the last inning showed is that for all the good things that have been said about JDLR, Yost still does not have the confidence to bring him in when things are tight.

Clue #1 - Cappy's PC was over 100, very high for early in the season.

Clue #2 - He had just walked in a run to make it 2-0, still a very winnable ballgame at that point.

Clue #3 - It was his 3rd walk of the inning.

I am at a loss as to what Yost was thinking. I think he's a good manager, but this loss will fall a lot on his shoulders if we lose this one 4-2 or 4-3. It was a very "Grady Little" type of decision.

We may be undefeated, but every single game has been close. And not having your leadoff hitter produce is something that will hurt you a lot in the long run. Its early so I'm gonna give Clark the benefit of the doubt for a couple of weeks but this can't continue for much longer.

Also, please take the attitude down a notch, thanks much appreciated.

you have to give the guys at least 2 weeks to start to produce. nothing will kill confidence than getting benched in the first week or two of the season...even if only for a game.

I think the most frustrating thing about today's loss, if we don't come back, is the fact that too much of it just reeked of the mistakes from last year's team. AGAIN, not coming through with runners in scoring position. Clumsy errors and excessive walks costing us runs. Scrub pitchers or any guy named (insert name of Triple A prospect making his debut) shutting down the bats. We're still going to be 5-1 at worst, but it's a little frustrating to see.

So. They won every one, I couldn't care if he was 0 for the season as long as the team is winning. I'll worry about one game at a time.

Oh please. This is a public message board and if you can't handle the comment I made then you're skin's way too thin for the web.

If Yost knew he was pulling Miller for Moeller anyway, why the heck did he have Miller bat with 2 on and 2 out? Did he honestly think Miller was the best option there? I'd rather have, Hall, Hart, Cirillo or Gross before Miller.

I'm not sure who wins Least Valuable player today...Weeks, Jenkins, or Clark

Boy, I've been very good about not bashing Jenkins so far, but my patience is wearing thin. I sure hope he doesn't play tomorrow, because he has that same "dear in the headlights" look at the plate.

Would be nice if Clark would get on base a bit more

Would be nice if Weeks would stop doing his Belliard/Jose Hernandez impersonation by swinging at breaking balls in the dirt.

Of course, it's just week 1, and we're 5-1. But with this road trip coming up, we could possibly be coming home below .500. Hopefully the offense gets going in week 2, while the pitching keeps going.
