The Brewers are smacking the ball around all over the place, but they can't get any of the hits down. Just might be one of those days.

that's a rather generous comment Toby. It's like Harry Doyle declaring "hot shot to the hole" on the dribbler in Major League. Koskie has hit two balls hard. Clark probably had his hardest hit ball of the season, which doesn't say much so far. Jenking hit some fouls nicely. And Lee hit one about 385 to center. For the most part they're weak popups and flyouts, for those not watching.

Well, that's about 8 more hard-hit balls than the D-Backs have. They are getting some pretty good hacks against Vargas.

Arrgh! This is one of those game-of-inches things. Based on raw inputs of quality pitches, quality contact, and fielding skill as opposed to dumb luck (I'm talking about Jenks' last grounder), we should be winning this game. But the team that lives by the close game will eventually die by it.

At least Cappy can escape all the "high run support" comments for a few days.

Greg.
