"I just don't think he's one of our top guys now...I feel Ned would be cheating the team...)

Nonsense. Hart's a major leaguer. He should be able to do the job just as the others. Weren't the Brewers just beat by subs Damien Easley and Tony Clark yesterday?

I can see not playing him vs. Cards, because of rust, but he should have been in there at least one game in the Arizona series so that wouldn't have been such an issue.

It's one thing to ask a veteran to be in witness protection or a rookie journeyman minor leaguer (like a Trent Durrington), but for a genuine prospect like Hart to sit like this is ridiculous.

That 6 through 9 in the Cards lineup isnt very worrisome, that said, I think they pounded us a few times last year with Pujols and a bunch of 3rd graders in the lineup. We wont know where we stand in the division until we take it to the Cardinals. They're the best in the Central, so this should be a measuring stick for us.

Absolutely he's a major leaguer. I even said he'll be GREAT. I love Corey Hart. I just don't believe in "playing him just to play him". If someone needs a day off (they dont yet) or is stuggling (it's too early to know) then he will be a great 4th outfielder.

When he is called upon (which will probably be quite frequently in the next stretch of games (after tomorrow i beleive we have 15 games in 15 days)....he will do a great job I'm sure!

"I don't believe in playing him just to play him".

Many if not most managers try to get starts for every non pitcher sometime in the first week of the season for the very reason "just to play him" so they keep their reserves from doing just what Hart is doing now, anxiously sitting wondering when he's going to get an AB.

What indication has Yost given that he'll see any more action the next 15 games than he has now?

Rydogg, it's important that Lee gets off to a nice start against the Cards. Last year he was 7-57 against them (.123) with 1 2b, no homers, and a mere 4 rbi in 16 games. His OBP was .175, slg was .140, and ops was .315. The only team he was worse against was the D-Rays, whom he went 1-13 against.

Lee's lack of success hurt the Crew last year against the Cards, as they got him out at crucial moments in several games. If he had hit more like .280 against them, it's quite possible the Crew wins 1-3 more of those games.

Anyone listening to the pre-game festivities on XM or gameday audio. They keep playing this dumb music over and over again. They are introducing everyone in convertibles including guys like Gary Bennett. Anyone watching on TV? How does it look?

Painfully slow, and almost unorganized. There was an awkward break where they didn't introduce anyone for like a minute, and then proceeded to rattle off a couple of bullpen pitchers in a row. At that point, FSN cut it to commercials.

I'm watching on MLB extra innings. The park is pretty impressive from the inside.....nice view of the Arch and downtown beyond the outfield. In any case, it's heads and tails above the old stadium.

EDIT: Does anyone remember the other stadiums that the Brewers have opened? Miller Park, Sky Dome.....any others?

Buck mentioned the home plate ump is from St Louis.....it's looking like it based on a few of those non-strike calls.
