1958 USC team signed baseball

Dmiles23
A friend of mine has a baseball signed by the entire 1958 USC baseball team, and was wondering if it had any worth? I just did a little research myself, and found out USC won the College World Series in 1958. I can't find a roster of the 1958 team, but from just doing a quick search it appears the 2 big names from the team were coach Rod Dedeaux and player Ron Fairly. There may be other bigger names on the team, but like I said, I couldn't find a roster. Does anyone know what this may be worth? The ball is in great shape for a ball from that era. Thanks.

Ron Fairly was the main player on that team. He played 21 years in the majors and is a broadcaster. Rex Johnston was a 2 sport player playing professionally in 1960 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and in 1964 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

I didn't look through it, but you could go player by player if there was any other MLB players from that team

It's definitely worth something. . .It's just that the market for such a ball is very very limited. . .

Maybe something to put on ebay with a higher reserve. . . If you sell to a dealer, you're probably not going to get much for it, as they will need to make a few dollars, too.

I bet to the right guy, that could be a $300-$500 item. Maybe even $1000. . .But how in the world could you find him other than at auction? Get it authenticated and take it to Omaha one year when USC is back in the CWS?

You might want to check with premierauctions.com They do a TON of business in autographed balls. Kevin Keating of Qualityautographs.com is also very well respected.

I wouldn't consider it a catalog item for Mastro or REA or Hunt, but it's still very cool, as it could be exceedingly rare.
