Baseball Tonight is having their web gem awards show right now and Gabe Kapler diving over the fence to make a catch against the Dodgers is the best play of the year for Left Fielders.

I happened to be at this game in L.A. This was the best play i have ever seen. The you tube footage seems to take some of the real time speed off the catch. He is basically in the second row stealing a HR.

I was at that game too. I must have been sitting about 10 rows behind where that shot was taken from. We couldn't even see what happened. I saw the ball off the bat and figured it was a homerun. Then I saw Kapler throwing the ball back in. I thought he caught it at the wall. It wasn't until the replay board showed it that I knew the greatness that was that catch.

Well goes to show defense is best appreciated in person. Kudos to Kapler!

Love that catch, was at a local bar my friends and I frequent quite often watching that game and the whole bar went nuts when Kap made that catch.
