Props to the man whose middle name is Kazu...

Nice pitching Tomo...and nice all around game with the hitting as well. It made for great listening for those of us at the Brewerfan.net softball practice.

Another amazing job by the brewers pitching staff today. Mets were red hot coming into this series and the brewers have held them to 4 earned runs in two games. And what pitcher would you rather have on the mound for the rubber game? It will be fun to watch sheets pitch on easter.

The bats are heating up. It was way too early to panic.

Jenks 1-5 but a big long blast. Wow he hit that a 1/3 of the way up the scoreboard. Hopefully as Bill and Darron were saying, this will help Geoff relax and get in a groove.

A great game save the defense. Hopefully Rickies D will improve as the year goes on.

One more thing. Much better IGT today. Of course it was hard to be negative today.

Yay! The sky is officially not falling, and the suicide police don't have to be on call. That IGT was such a nice read compared to last night. I wish they all could be that positive, win or lose.

Bravo to the Brewers, and bravo to last night's negative ninnies finding something else to do today. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I love that the last play of the game was Rickie turning a nice DP, even if Prince did have to dig out the throw. Maybe that feeling will stick in his head overnight and reinforce his confidence in the ability we all know he has.

Ralph, what's with the axe grinding? When the team plays a bad or so-so game, bad things happen, and people who pay close attention will talk about those bad things. When the team plays a great game, there's a lot of great stuff to talk about. I'm with you on the optimism tip, but why do you have to swerve out of your lane to take a shot at people for saying negative things about negative events last night?

Anyway, this was a great win. We've now played almost half our games on the road against good teams, and we're 7-4 overall. Huge game tomorrow (during which I'll unfortunately be airborne). How great is it to feel like early-season games matter because we actually expect to win them?

Greg.

Go back and read last night's IGT. I'm sure you can agree that some of that negativity was unfounded. In my opinion, if posters are going to show up just to complain, there isn't really a point to them being here.

I have no problem with negativity when its just, but some of the posts last night alluded to this team being horrible, that they'll never finish above .500, that all the young players will flame out and that Geoff Jenkins is basically the devil himself. I mean, come on! There's no need for that type of posting. Those type of posters are why I made the switch from the ESPN boards to here several years ago. This board is full of knowledgeable, dedicated baseball fans that aren't ready to slit their wrists at every strikeout, error or loss. The season is 162 games long, but some of the posters on last night's game thread don't seem to realize that.

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Re: 4/15 player of the game thread Ohka, to shut that offense down like he did. It was lovely to see the bats come to life a little, too, but Ohka was the player of the game for me.

I just emailed Daron Sutton via his blog and mentioned the whole Tomo "Kazoo" Ohka thing. Maybe between Brewerfan.net, and a possible mention on the air by Daron, we just might be able to fill MP with squealing kazoos at Tomo's home starts. I can't see any reason why the Bucketheads couldn't each be given a kazoo to go with their t-shirt the next Tuesday home game that Ohka throws. Heck, I'd bring a bunch myself and hand em out.

Maybe if we annoy the opposing hitters enough with those things, Tomo's home performance might pick up. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Just to set the record straight, Kazu is not Ohka's middle name. It's just the end of his first name. His official name is Tomokazu Ohka. Nonetheless, that kazoo idea is priceless and awesome. Someone should edit that fighting okra into a kazoo-playing okra. Now that would be the sweetest mascot ever.
