Hardy for Sanchez

I see his career road ERA isn't the best but his last 2 years have been 3.84 and 3.88 which is right in line with his regular ERA. I see a young pitcher like that and I would love to see him in a Brewer's uniform. I guess I have a different opinion than most people on this board. I think Prince has much more trade value right now than J.J. Hardy. I am reminded that Prince is only 24 years old and only a year removed from a 50 HR season. I think trading Prince right now would be selling low on him. I think next year he will be the most feared hitter in baseball. You just don't give those guys away after one bad season.

I'm not saying Cain wouldn't be worth Hardy, I'm just not sure he would to the point where I would call it a no brainer. Even highly mediocre pitchers can thrive in san fran because it is historically a weak hitting division and it is a flyball pitchers paradise. I'm also very worried about the workload that SF puts on its pitchers. I will be shocked if Cain and Lincecum are both healthy through 2010(1 or the other probably will be) and I won't be a tiny bit surprised if they both have major surgery before the end of 2010.

Hall is the problem not the solution, I sure hope he doesn't see full time play at any position this year.

Brewers shouldn't trade Hardy is my answer, not until they are sure Escobar can hit better than Counsell which I'm not convinced of.

btw, Volquez had a 4.60 ERA in the second half this year and his first half 2.29 ERA was partially luck based, I wouldn't be calling him a great pitcher just yet. My guess is he is a 4 ERA type of guy next year.

I don't think Sanchez is a bad pitcher either but lefties who walk a lot of guys are pretty tricky to judge. Lefties develop late and he could go the Oliver Perez path or be out of baseball before he is a free agent, you just never know with that type of guy.

I am going to may a way out there prediction and say that after Lasik surgery this year that Hall goes .270 28 HR's next year as our full time 3B.

I sure hope he doesn't even get the chance to prove you right. Even if Hall somehow hits 28 HR it probably will come with a .320ish OBP and will make him average at best at 3B. We most certainly can do better. If Hall is going to have any value it is as a MI, he just isn't a good enough hitter to carry value at 3B.
