Does this trade with the Angels make sense/seem reasonable

We send the Angels Price Fielder, Bill Hall and a high prospect and receive Brandon Wood, Reggie Wilits, Jeff Mathis and Ervin Santana/Jered Weaver.

Is this possible? Does this make sense for either team? Is it too much for fielder? too little for the angels?

Could Wilits play center and bat leadoff??

Wood could be our starter at 3rd. Santana or weaver would complement yo and parra nicely. Mathis has a lot of upside.

I guess it depends on who the 'high prospect' is to wage whether it's good value or not.

However, Wood is one of the guys who might actually be worse than Hall playing every day at 3B. But, he is 6 years younger than Hall and is making league minimum. His star has faded quite a bit, but he could definitely improve. However, IMO, I don't think the Angels would have much interest in Hall since they have Figgins, Aybar, Kendrick, & Izturis.

I would also question the Brewers' interest in Mathis as the catching corp was pretty solid this year and there seems to be a plethora of catchers in the minors, but crazier things have happened. To clarify, I would think that there are positions of need on the Brewers, and catcher isn't at the top of the list.

If anything, Fielder plus a little something for one of Santana/Saunders/Weaver plus Willits might be amenable to both teams, but who knows.

I don't think that the Wood's star has faded as much as you think, he had a rough time when called up, but his .296 /.375/.595/.970 and 31 HR's in under 400 AAA ab's as a 23 year old, makes me think he could be a very good option as an everyday 3b for the Brewers.

If we could somehow get Santana, Wood, Willits, and Mathis for Fielder, and get them to take on Billy Halls contract, I guess Melvin would have to consider it, but I don't think the Brewers are looking to trade Fielder yet, and I'm not sure that Anaheim would offer that much. I'm not ready to jump off the Fielder bandwagon like it seems a lot of Brewers fans are, I'm still hoping he signs long term and is our first baseman for a long time to come.
