Just to put things into perspective...

Sheets has started one game

Clark has been horrible

Rickie and Prince have combined for 1 homerun

and we still have a winning record.

Not everyone on this team is going to come around. But when those that ARE going to actually do come around, we're a wild-card caliber team.

The starting pitchers have been wonderful. We tend to get mad when someone gives up 4 runs in 6 innings but that's commonplace for some teams.

this loss was very tough to deal with.. extremely hard..

but we will be alright.

Wow, it's a forum version of a barroom brawl.

Cmon, people, we're all pissed, but let's not take it out on one another. We're all united in our love for the Crew... aren't we? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

EXACTLY.

Just because folks wanna post their distaste for this TEAM doesnt give the right for some to CHALLENGE others opinions.

Its usually stuff here and it needs to change if this board wants to be great. Jeesh!

I agree. We need a whole lot less of individuals whose only contribution is to sit back and wait to rip on what someone else says. We literally have some people who never post one game-related post. They only chime in to point out the error of someone else's ways. Yes, we do have some people who get emotional and exaggerated. But having designated post bashers really is getting old. Not every poster here is going to have all the Brewers stats memorized.

i can counter that....we have played Arizona and the Pirates..not exactly great teams....the good teams we have played we are something like 2-5

But you can mistrue my words and call me out and insult my intelligence that it makes it ok that you do it?

First off, show where, exactly your intelligence was insulted. As for you 'stating your opinion,' what you posted earlier that was being questioned was:

he did what expected in crunch time, like he always does, when its joke time, he gets away with his weak stuff

....which you kind of left out of your 'I just stated my opinion post.' What about that is not you making accusations without any kind of rationale behind it?

ANd frankly, I didnt say ONE thing to ANY ONE POSTER!

Very true, you didn't single out any poster. But your blanket condesding posts and general insults aren't accepted here either.

Well, I vented a little bit and now I'm actually feeling better now. Thanks for bearing with my couple of posts. I got my feelings out there and didn't seem to offend anyone. YES!

My focus now is somehow pulling off a miracle the next two days and beating 2 of the toughest pitchers in baseball. I set out with a 4-win goal for this road trip. My thinking is we'll find a way to pull off at least one of the two remaining (my guess being against Andy on Wed). 3-6...would not very good at all. But these are 3 of the toughest teams in the NL so I guess it's not like we dropped all these games to the likes of Pittsburgh, ARZ, or FLA.

That's as positive as I can be for tonight.

Good news, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Gieko.

Better news, the Crew has a better record than the World Series runner up did at this point of the season last year.

The Best news, there are still a TON of games left to play and we have a young team capable of doing great things once they get some time in.

Nice post Steve. Very frustrating loss tonight, but we're headed home in a couple of days. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

i realize that most wins came against the bad teams.. But isn't that what we are supposed to do?

we went 5-1 against Pitt and Arizona..

That's about as good a start as we could have hoped for, given our tendency to choke against Pitt.

So we head to St. Louis where Albert is off to a MONSTER start. Yeah we lost 2 out of 3, but we came close to taking that series. We weren't blown out by any means. Then we go to New York and play a team that is red hot. Bullpen meltdown in the final game, but other than that we played right with them.

Tonight was just strange, and we go up against Oswalt and Pettite in the next two days. We might not win both, but we could.. A split and we still go home with a winning record after a road trip against three of the toughest lineups in the NL.

We can't just look at the games as losses. Yeah we might end up only winning 1 of 3, but if we are playing right along with them in all three games, we're in good shape. When the young guys start to perform, we'll get them back next time around.

i agree...but coming close still means we aren't there...when we start winning those games is when we become a contender...it is early, maybe things will change later on in the season...I think this year we will take a step back then explode next year..just my opinion

I agree with what you're saying, but good grief all you do if comment on other people's posts. It's like all you do is sit there waiting to pounce on what somebody else says.

I'll "pounce" on a troll like timeisnow whenever it is needed. He rips on other posters and players despite inumerable facts that show his conclusions are wrong. And now he is taking the classic position of claiming martydom because people call him on it. He's trolling, and if he doesn't change his behavior quickly he'll face consequences for his actions.

One of my responsibilities is to keep an eye on behavior like his, and in the past I'd usually let the mods handle it. But early in the season is always taxing on them, so I'm doing my part to try and help keep people as rationale and sincere as possible. I'm sorry if you don't like my particular style, but frankly, you're not someone whom I care about whether or not they approve of how I do my job.

This one hurt very bad. Most likely the Brewers will be heading out of houston 7-8 (if they are lucky 8-7). Seems like this early tough road trip is a test the brewers have failed. Hope I'm very wrong, but I think its going to be tough for the brewers to jump off the mat after a loss this tough at the end of a fairly long road trip.

A few observations. Why was JJ playing so deep in the hole to seemingly ever batter tonight? How many hits did the Astros have out of the reach of JJ up the middle? Atleast 4.

I don't blame Ned for leaving wise in. The bullpen is short and he is your second best reliever. That being said i would have gone with Lehr in the 7th and Wise in the 8th instead of planning on wise pitching two innings. Youre gonna burn out Matty that way.

Horrible call by the ump on the ball coming out of fielder's glove. Really a bad bad call. As for complaining about ned not arguing enough? What's that gonna change honestly. He got is answer and i'm sure he'll talk to that ump about it tomorrow. Close call might go the brewers way later in this series. Catch more calls with honey then vinager.

Darron really annoyed me tonight and for the most part I enjoy his pbp. All the Dave Bush man love is getting really old really fast. Honestly you don't have to tell me 10 different times during the game that he prepares for games by working out. I got it. Also he used to be a catcher. Great, don't need to hear that 20 times. He said the Jason Lane homer was KILLED as he was rounding the bases. Now I was already ticked off that a ball which is an out in every other ballpark in the majors (save fenway--probably off the wall there) was a go ahead homer, but then to have the brewers pbp guy to say that ball was killed just added to my frustration.

Dave Bush. I'm not impressed. He consistly misses spots and really got lucky tonight. Tons of ball left over the plate that the astros didn't take advantage of. Maybe he was just had two off starts in a row, but so far i see a guy with command which is iffy with a low 90s fastball and an overrated by darron and bill curve ball. Actually the few change ups i saw him throw were dead on location wise. I don't know why he doesn't throw that pitch more.

Time to move Fielder back to the 5 hole before Lee never sees a pitch to hit again with first base open. 5 hole is seemingly a black hole. Fielder struggled from there moved down and got hot. Koskie was hot, moved the 5 hole and now is ice cold. Nevertheless, move Fielder back up.

Good to see Jenkins and Lee pretty hot at the same time. Probably 9 times out of 10 the brewers scored 7 runs or better this year they are gonna win. Its early, still over .500, tough road trip, yada yada yada. This loss was very tough to watch. Yeah! Now we get to face roy oswalt! Ugh.

what's funny is that assuming they can win Wednesday, if they can steal one tomorrow vs Oswalt, then it'll be a very successful roadtrip

bwahahhahaha so u are really sayin ga 3-6 road trip successful?

Steve stop trying to make an excuse for every single loss my god

We beat the pirates and diamond backs like we are beat down by the 3 best in the NL yay

We were ebarrassed in every series

You dont have winning season getting treated like a floor matt

This team blows chunks and is a nightly circus of errors risp etc

Simply put this team is a joke

i like wise tho
