I have a feeling that Preston Wilson hasn't won over many Astros fans this series.

You know, after his strikeouts I've been listening to the crowd. I'm not hearing any boos. Really surprises me. Are they that "good" of fans (supportive and won't boo) or that "bad" of fans (oblivious to his 9 strikeouts in two days)?

alright!

We did what we needed to do tonight.

Pettite is on, so we work the counts a little, get a few hits, tire him out, even score a couple. Then we attack the bullpen with some clutch hitting with RISP. Solid relief and thats the game.

Love it.

If they were "good" fans, they'd be giving him some encouragment going up to the plate like the fans at Miller Park did for Prince Fielder after all those strikeouts in the first two games...

Don't wanna lump all the 'Stros fans into one big group though.

To be fair, I get upset with the crowd at The Keg because they do the same thing. Maybe it just doesn't sound as well on TV.

Strawboss, that conversation was great. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif You the man.

Brewers win! Brewers win!

The poster previously known as Robin19, now @RFCoder

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

I think they all have that "Buyers Pride" about Preston. I'm sure they were all excited to get him and bragged about it constantly when he started hitting. Kind of like me when i commit to a new gaming system.. Playstation? puuullleeeeaaaaaaassseeee

Wow, no negativity to be found tonight. Yay Brewers!

Capuano looked very good tonight. Located his pitches well, and kept the 'Stros guessing. I guess those posters that questioned Yost starting Cirillo at 1B are eating a bit of crow now.

Excellent game tonight, just what the doctor ordered. Brewers can come back home on a good note and like I said earlier in the thread, we won one game in each series on the road vs. three very good teams. If a series @StL was surrounded by road trips to Pittsburgh and Washington I don't think anyone would complain about one win against the Cards. It just happened to be that we had three very tough series in a row.

The only downer (and you can look at this two ways) is that we lost, in my eyes, 4 winnable games on the trip. It's disappointing that the Brewers didn't win another in Houston or NY but hopefully in time we'll learn how to pull those games out. So now we're 8-7, the bats seem to be heating up, and we've got a nice homestand coming up. Let's take care of business and end April on the sunny side of .500.

In honor of the Brewers tonight -- and in honor of getting all my laundry done tonight in addition to a boatload of other household chores -- I'm gonna settle in here with a couple hot dogs, a beer, and listen to some post-game chat on WSSP.

Woohoo. :)

I seem to recall (and I could be wrong) that a lot of posters said they'd be happy to be at .500 at the end of April. I don't see how that's still not a very attainable goal at this point, and the worst stretch of schedule is behind us.

Yes, it would have been a heck of a lot nicer to play better than .333 ball against the Cards, Astros and Mets, but they'll get other chances to prove they can play with the big boys yet this year.

Thanks.

Great to be on the winning side of one. Hopefully we can have this feeling more often in the next few weeks. Next series we are going to have to beat the tar out of the baseball because I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of offense w/ the Reds in town.

My pessimistic post of the day: When is Weeks going to hit a HR? He's still holding me in suspense. That said, he's getting on base, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

yeah, I'd like to see some SLG. out of the kid, but as long as he's getting on base and using his speed on the 'paths, I'm not gonna get too upset. We know he *can* hit for power, it's just a matter of when.

I love station-to-station baseball. Love it! This was exactly what the team needed heading back home.

Hopefully they're not too tired tomorrow. Gotta get on a plane and unwind after a huge win, somehow get to sleep tonight around 2:00 am our time? And then wake up tomorrow to face the Reds. Hope they're not too drained....

I noticed this, too, in the first two games we attended two weeks ago. Small sample, but I don't remember big group gasps for what were obviously popups or fouls in previous years at MP.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

On the subject of Preston Wilson, Bill and Daron mentioned that the other day when he grounded out to third for the first non-K out in a while, he got a standing ovation.

So, either the Astros fans have a very dry collective wit, or they're very supportive of their slumping player.

Great win to see. This game was a lot of fun to watch tonight.

I like the proposal that the game be shortened to the last three innings. No relief staff is safe from the Brew Crew!!

Ah a very nice win by the brewers. Cappy excellent. The hitting continues to roll and the reds pitching staff is next. Yeah!

I hope to see prince in the 5 hole next game. I have a feeling Ned won't just because this lineup is scoring runs, but it still should be done.

The road trip as a whole was unfortunate. A D- if you were to grade it. Bad, but not a complete failure. Tough test though. Still 8-7 and only 2 games out of first.

I really have a feeling the crew is really going to take it to the reds. I'm excited for the next series.
