Words cannot express enough how happy I am that this thread exists. I'd like to say thank you first and foremost to everyone here who's stuck with this team through 106 loss seasons, 2nd half collapses, 12 consecutive losing seasons, and a 25-year playoff drought. Brewers fans are some of the most patient in all of sports, and this reward is well-deserved. I'd like to say thank you to Mark Attanasio, Doug Melvin, Jack Z, and the rest of the front office for their hard work, dedication, and initiative for going out and raising the payroll to make a small-market team competitive. And finally, I'd like to thank all the players. It would have been very easy to pack-it-in after what seemed like another late-stretch collapse. I was too young to remember 1982, but I'm going to relish this season forever, no matter what happens going forward.

And now, let's get this started:

I'm totally aboard the Yo starting and McClung closing train playoff train. I'm usually up late, but I just don't know if I will sleep at all tonight. I can't wait for the pep rally at Summerfest tomorrow.
Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I live in Chicago and won't be able to make the rally tomorrow. You better believe all the hours spent watching my MLB.TV on the laptop was well worth it. CC can leave at the end of the season for $1 more than the Brewers would offer and I swear to anything that I would still respect this man 100%. He put himself at risk to lose $100 million++ by straining himself to pitch on three days rest 3 times in a row. That is mind boggling. What heart...what desire...what will to win that man possesses inside. As Maddux said, ride that stallion!

So this better not have all been a dream...

Really whatever happens from here out is gravy. The playoffs can be a pretty big crap shoot. I would really like the crew's chances if Sheets were healthy, but i still like them with CC pitching against the lefty dominate phillies twice if need be.

Game 1 is very key in a short series. Winning at least one of the first two is a must.

Thanks Brian. I still wear my Brewerfan.com T-shirt with pride. Its kinda like owning a reto uni. I remember it well when you and the leadership made the jump from ESPN boards and other places to start this site. Its been a god-send ever since.

I'm with you...Yo in the opener. If Dale goes with Soup I won't complain. Going with the only starter on the staff (not named CC) who's started a big playoff game makes some since.

I too would like to thank you Brian for starting this place. I was told about it about 3 years ago. I was on the MLB boards and they just really bothered me. This is where the true fans are and can talk about baseball with intellegence.

I think we go with Soup here but Yo could be a great call too. We went out and got Soup for this exact reason, playoff baseball. He's been a stud in the post season before and I think we should go with him. That being said, Yo is just pure amazing so I don't think you can really go wrong.

I've been waiting my whole life for this so here we go!

I would appreciate a repeat of the Hamels game at Milwaukee earlier this year. In fact that is the only time we have beaten the Phillies.

The Phils haven't faced CC or Gallardo and they may have to face those 2 guys 4 times in a 5 game series. I like our chances. Plus the last time we were in Philly that was pretty much the lowest of the low.

hopefully the Phils get a little overconfident since they did annhilate us a couple weeks ago

I would hate for them to waste McClung by making him closer. I'd like to see him come in right after Gallardo and pitch a few innings, or save him for a big situation in the 7th or 8th inning where we need someone to come in and get a few crucial outs.

Brewerfan's first Brewer playoff thread!! I have a feeling this may have quite a few pages by the time the game is over.

I would love to see Gallardo start this game. I have no confidence in Suppan. I just can't see him turning in to some super playoff starter all of a sudden.

My lineup:

Cam

Durham (Weeks, if Sveum starts him)

Braun

Fielder

Hardy

Hart (Oh, where are you Gabe Kapler?)

Hall

Kendall

Pitcher

Let's go Brewers!!

Can't think of a better person to start this thread--this is definitely the coolest thread in BF.net history, at least for me. I'm jacked that it's officially Yovanni. If he can throw like he did on Thursday, things will be looking up. Can't wait for Wednesday!
