Attendance figure from this article. Could very well have been more than 14188 as people didn't have to walk through the turnstiles after 6:30ish, IIRC.

A Sandy Maxx sighting in the house. Wasn't sure if it was her at first since she wasn't all made up, but then noticed she was wearing her in-game-host jersey.

 

Also found it odd to see WPR's Kathleen Dunn there as well.

A really nice turnout, and a pretty nice fireworks show to wrap it up. Half of the crowd seemed to have left shortly after the players did, but that's the reason everyone was there, right?

 

Anyway, I got to hang out behind the stage to take some up close pictures of the players/coaches/others as they arrived and before they went up on the stage. The pictures aren't the greatest of quality, since my camera at work sucks, but I hope you enjoy them.

Colbyjack, those pictures are great. I love the Torres picture mid-dance.

 

Does anybody else think that Seth McClung looks kinda like a used-car salesman in that picture?

Yeah Torres speech was great.

 

I am going to vent just a bit though. I realize that the players had to get off to Philly, but couldn't they have pushed everything back an hour or so. With work and school and everything, my family and I was just able to get there just after the players took the stage. There was no way for us to see anything (especially my 4' 8" 10 year old son - this is one of the reason's I'm not a huge fan of seeing shows at side stages at Summerfest). It was a very fun atmosphere though.

It was cool to see Melvin, Attanasio and the rest of the front office on the VIP balcony. Since I was in the back standing on a picnic table that was one benefit is that we were right next to those guys. People were throwing balls up to them and Attanasio and Melvin signed them and then dropped them back down.
