Your theme-song for tonight's game.

ttsather

Whew.

3 games with the Cubs at Miller Park. Tied for the Wild Card. New manager, solid starting pitching, solid relief, offense coming around with (for better or worse) help from smallball.

And there's one song that I can't get out of my head . . .

I Want to Break Free - Queen

(You?)

"Pressure" - Billy Joel

I remember a local network playing this as a theme song for a special they did during the 82 playoffs and it's always stuck in my mind for big games like this.

Another one is "This is it" by Kenny Logins. I remember this being played back in the 80's (?) as an opening to the NCAA basketball finals, but that's more of a playoff or game 7 type song.

User in-game thread post in 1st inning of 3rd game of the 2022 season: "This team stinks"

Kind of related, I really liked the use of O.A.R.'s song "This Town" in the fan thank you video montage. I wouldn't mind using that as a theme song. "Take this town" could be a reference to taking Miller Park back from the cub fans.

I don't want it to be the way they want it...

This town, this night, this crowd

Come on put em up, let me hear it loud

This town, this city, this crowd

Stand up on your feet put your worry down

Everyone of you, all around

Come on ya'll let's take this town

Nice topic, and I dearly hope it's not painfully irrelevant by this time Saturday.

Displaying my lack of music hipness, I'd never heard of O.A.R. before this week. Then they were announced as the headliner for Freakfest in Madison the other day, and now I read ewizabeff's post. I couldn't hear the song very well last night at MP but I could possibly go for that. The lyrics cited above certainly make sense.

Could anyone tell what song was being played during the post-walkoff celebration Thursday night? because I kind of liked what I heard, or at least will probably associate it forever more with last night's happy celebration.

As for my own theme song, I've had "Heroes" by David Bowie on my mind for weeks.

We can be heroes, just for one day. It seems consistent with the 1-0 mindset.

Wasn't it the same song last night as they play after every win? The lyrics are escaping me now....shoot. Edit: When we win tonight I'll pay more attention and report back, if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
It probably is the same song, but I'm usually cheering when the Brewers win - thus to date I have failed to give it a good listen.

I thought I'd break out of my self-imposed exile to post in this topic since I've had "Three Lions '98", England's World Cup '98 theme song, in my head all week. Really inspirational in the way it celebrates a team and stands up to a murky past:

You'd need to change the lyrics a bit....:

Barley sprig on my shirt

Warren Giles' still gleaming

No more years of hurt

No more need for dreaming

Of course, hopefully the season ends better for the Brew Crew than it did for England in 1998's Cup!

I was reading this thread and deciding which song I would put down when "Summer's Gone" by Gaelic Storm came up and that seemed appropriate. The imminent end of baseball means the cold and snow are not far off. I'm excited we're talking October baseball, but it will be a long off-season.

I posted this video in that motivational pictures/videos thread a couple weeks back, but it is the song which currently reminds me of the Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ewizabeff's post made me think of an all time favorite of mine, off topic but I love "That was a crazy game of poker" by O.A.R.

10 days ago I would have said

Today I would say "Right Now" by Van Halen

edit. I must be dumb because I'm unable to get IE to add more than 2 videos to a single post, so I converted everything back to html links. Sorry for the double post, I lost all of the text in the first post, so I deleted it and added this on back.

edit 2 and 3. corrected horrible spelling and grammar

Tonight's Game:

We'll know the results of Mets-Marlins around the start of our game.

I'll be at work through all of this, so I'm gonna miss it all. Because of this, my personal theme song will be about getting stuck between a need (money) and a want/need (Brewers).

"Stuck Between Stations" by The Hold Steady, which you may have heard as a lead-in from commercials to Ueck and Jim's broadcasts . . . Link
