NLDS Schedule

bucks2281

I'd hate to put the cart before the horse, but TBS has released next week's playoff schedule.

Wednesday, October 1: @ NL East (12:30 or 2:00 pm CT)

Thursday, October 2: @ NL East (12:30 or 2:00 pm CT)

Saturday, October 4: @ MIL (4:00 or 5:30 pm CT)

Sunday, October 5: @ MIL (6:00 pm CT (or TBA))

Tuesday, October 7: @ NL East (4:00 or 5:30 pm CT)

I think you mean Saturday October 4, Sunday October 5, and Tuesday October 7.

That sets up an interesting conflict since I have NLDS game 3 tickets and an Ohio State football ticket. The football ticket is definitely going to be the one to go.

we're screwed
No kidding.

Obviously, I'll be OVERJOYED if we make the playoffs in any way way possible, but boy, would I like to have the spot clinched after Saturday so that CC can get some rest. If that happens somehow, we'll be good to go, aside from all of our other starting pitching issues.

Umm, that looks like the schedule if the Brewers make the playoffs as the wildcard. Everything changes if the mets get in, including matchups. Definitely subject to change.
At the link that is the schedule (without teams or locations being listed) for "NLA = National League Division Winner versus Wildcard", so if the Brewers get in that is their schedule. If they don't (and assuming that Houston does not pull out a miracle) then that is the schedule for the Cubs vs. Wild card (Mets/Phillies).

The crappy scheduling is a big reason why a lot of Cub fans on Northside Baseball are pulling for the Brewers to make the playoffs. They want to be able to see their team actually play in the playoffs. A bunch of afternoon games would definitely suck, but I guess I should hold onto those spare absences I have in all my classes for that week. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Why? Not saying we are not, but why does that schedule being revealed lead to that conclusion?

edit: Ah, I see it's about watching the games (with 140 hours of available leave left http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif, I didn't think of that potential issue for some)...I had read the "we" as referring to the team.

I really dont see what difference it makes. If you are a fan of the teams or baseball in general, you will be watching or DVR'ing the games regardless if they are 2pm or 7pm. This year, TBS is selling a 30 second commercial for the NLDS at 1.75M irregardless if you purchase during the day or the evening time slot.

I am referring to the fact that we are put in as the WC. If the fates have anything to say about it... its a death wish for this teams chances. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I see, so if they don't make the wild card it won't be Yost's fault or Sveum's fault or the player's fault or Melvin's fault, instead it'll all be on bucks2281. Well, at least we'll know who to blame http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif.

I used discretion before I posted this ... but then I figured that if some Brewers fanatic posting at midnight on a message board could effect the outcome of a 6-month long playoff race ... well, it's never going to happen for the Brewers.

I suppose a lot of posters have the same mentality as I do. If the improbable should happen, the games come first. Forget school, work, whatever ... I'm watching the games.

Maybe someone would like to post over there suggesting that Cubs fans stay away from Miller Park this weekend (or at least cheer for the Brewers) if they want to do their part in helping get their team into favorable time slots... or at least encourage their management to rest Ramirez, Soriano & all other Brewer Killers.
