You probably don't see it happening because of the first two game's matchups. I don't feel at all confident in Soup and Bushy either, honestly. The first game is huge. If we win that one, I believe we'll get 2 of 3. If not, we'll only salvage one win in that series.

Yes, and partly because I've never been here before. If Cotts, Howry, Hart, and Hill blow the game at Shea tonight, I'd be downright giddy right now. But now I feel like we're being taken to a new high and will be dropped higher and harder than ever before.

Last time the Brewers played Chicago at home, they looked terrible. They had the lead for probably fifteen minutes that entire series. I'm just worried ... that's all. I hope to be celebrating with you fine people on Sunday evening.

How about Yovanni Gallardo?

How about the Brewer bullpen?

How about Ryan Braun?

How about that one folks!

Yes, yes, yes and YES!

Gallardo showed tremendous heart tonight. Man one bad pitch and 7 K's in 4 innings. I can't wait to see him hopefully pitch again in the playoffs and pitch all of next year.

Maybe that blast is all it will take for Ryan to really break out this series coming up.

SportsCenter's been confusing Powell for Uecker for years now. It's nothing new.

I suppose if you never heard either or seldom hear them, you have a hard time picking out which is which, but come on...Uecker's home run call is pretty distinctive.

Was there tonight... crowd was a little flat until the 7th, then... wow. Pretty intense at the end of the game, and I'm not sure I've heard Miller Park louder than when Braun hit that ball. It was bedlam. And no one left until Braunie came out of that dugout for his curtain call.

I just hope... and pray... that they don't let us down this weekend. I'd hate to have moments like Tuesday and tonight go for naught. 2 of 3 boys, that's all I ask.

What is sad is even if Counsell reaches, I have ZERO confidence in Braun right now.

I said to the S.O. during Ryan's last at-bat that I'd love to be proven wrong, but I just didn't think Ryan was going to be the answer in the 10th inning. So whoever's post that was above, it wasn't just you.

Listening to the replay of the walkoff call, I needed a moment to determine whether it was Bob's call or Jim's. The crowd nearly drowned Jim's voice out.

Please, Brewers, don't let that be the last special moment of 2008.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I was listening online, which is about a pitch behind live action. My brother called me before the final pitch. I didn't answer, but the fact that he was calling tipped me off. Of course, it was still pretty awesome to hear Powell's call and to have it be a salami and not "just" a single.

Ryan Braun is a GO GETTA! GRAND SALAMI for the win!

OMG! This is 1992 but now we are even instead of trailing with 3 to play. GO BREWERS! (Being a Cub apologist ended when they lost tonight)

GO BREWERS GO!

I thought Fernando Vina would know better. And FSN Wisconsin's picture quality on the national highlights is embarassing.

First they had us listen to the "great Bob Uecker." Then 2 hours later to the "dulcet tones of Bob Uecker"

Powell always does 3-4, 7 and 10-11 if needed.

I don't think this is a repeat thread, so I think we all need to give Yo major props for that effort last night.

What a horse. I'm sure there are several guys who would have balked at taking any chance of pitching this year. What is Yo to personally gain really besides big love from some fans? Well, he came back and looked like a true ace last night. He really comes off as a guy who just wants to pitch and help his team regardless of circumstance. A lot like CC has sounded this week. I think Yo, Parra, and Bush is a solid foundation for next year's rotation going into the offseason. Regardless of what happens with CC or Ben Sheets, we WILL have a legitimate ace on the staff.

Thank you, Yovani Gallardo!

Yo is awesome. In watching last night, I couldn't help but think what could have been this year had he not been hurt. I had him on my fantasy team this year, because I knew he was going to have a breakout year. It WILL happen next year. He's a legitimate ace, a legitimate workhorse with amazing stuff. His first start back after having ACL surgery (in the same season, by the way) and he gets 7 Ks? Impressive. If (huge if, I know) the Brewers get into the playoffs, Yo is going to be a huge help in propelling them forward. I love Yo!

I posted this in another thread, but I feel like Yo's performance will go a little under-appreciated because of the way the game ended but he pitched so well. Outside of the short pitch count he did not really look that rusty. Now I know it was against the Pirates but they still have some hitters on their team. Also props need to go out to the bullpen this series. Mota had a rough outing one game, but Villy, Coffey, and Gagne were great.
