9/20/08 Brewers (Sabathia) at Reds (Cueto) 2:55 CDT (FOX) ~Negative Vibes~

It would be nice to see Rivera get another start or two down the stretch with as good as he's been this year. Unfortunately, it sounds like he has been told not to expect another start.

For whatever reason, Svuem and Yost think that Kendall is the Johnny Bench of the 21st century.

Can someone share the short refresher course on Garth Iorg's recent coaching background?

It was mostly an off-the-cuff suggestion before, but wouldn't pulling someone like Davey Nelson or Jeff Cirrillo out of the booth to coach third for the last two weeks of the season... someone who has seen these players all season and knows their capabilities when making split second decisions?

The day after the season ends, we'll hear from Braun that his rib injury never really healed and every swing in every game was a battle for him. You won't hear that now but mark my words, something isn't right. And not too long from now, the truth shall be heard.

I think that is stating the obvious. This isn't the Ryan Braun we all know.

I'm sure. I wonder if Suppan will say his elbow never really healed but he tried to grit it out.

We know Riske was pitching for a month plus with a bone chip which rendered him ineffective, and Sheets has been pitching with a bum elbow so it isn't out of the realm of plausibility.

That makes me wonder: What then will the excuses be for Weeks, Hall, Hart (2nd half), Gagne, Counsell...

Yeah it was early June, I went back and checked and editted but not fast enough!

His defense has statistically been above average this year though. He has looked much better this year to me(unlike Fielder). He still struggles to turn double plays at times though, not sure how well the fielding metrics judge that.
