Seriously, I'm getting really concerned about the offense and their extended hitting slump.

 

The last time I felt the offense was going well was during the 2nd game of the Pittsburgh series, only 19 games ago

Yes I believe if you bring in a relief pitcher they have to pitch to one batter.

Doesn't help that Fontenot has a 3 inch strike zone.

 

On a different note, I'm kind of surprised that the Cubs haven't been running on Kendall more. During the sweep in Milwaukee it seemed like every baserunner was trying to steal, and that led to a ton of runs. Fontenot didn't even try to take 2nd on that ball that got away from Kendall.

Man Mota is on fire. Not sure the exact reason he was getting lit up earlier this season but he has figured it out and looks great.

Mota has some filthy stuff. He's very good when his command is on. Honestly, I think Gagne has some pretty good stuff, too, but he just hasn't be able to put it together this year.

On an unrelated note, I just saw a Cubs commercial for stubhub.com and they showed a few seconds of fans cheering Zambrano in Miller Park. Ugh...now they're encouraging scalpers to snatch up our tickets.
