Cell phone will not ring on incoming calls

Patrick425

I have Sprint and and LG phone (LX350? - I think). The phone is about 2 or 3 years old if I'm remembering correctly. Over the past couple of days my wife claims she has been trying to call me on my way home from work. I tested out the phone today by calling it from my work number and it won't ring. I have checked everything on the phone and have had others look at it. Everything seems to be set correctly (phone's not on mute or the ringer is not turned off). When I play with the ringer volume setting, the phone rings. However, when I get calls it doesn't. How is this possible? I would think if the ringer is not working, it would not ring at all.

Any suggestions? I really do not want to have to get a new phone because of this.

You tried turning it off and on?

I've had similar problems with mine when it isn't switching cel towers properly.

Thanks..that worked! I'm feeling pretty stupid for not thinking of that.

I used to work for a cell company and that seriously fixes 90% of the "weird" problems with cell phones. Its just like a computer. Always try popping the battery out and back in or shutting it down and a lot of the time thats all ya need to do.

Have you tried reasoning with it?

Seriously, the battery thing is the phone version of the computer reboot, just try it before calling for help. Both my wife and my old roommate have been "in charge" of computer set-ups at work (her for a nursing home, he for a city), and both say the reboot solves 90% of the problems...and no one really knows why. Makes you look like a genius though.
