Doug Davis' splits

Davis vs. Pirate hitters

Working in Cincinnati on Wednesday, the lefty pitched seven innings for the second straight start and posted his first quality start since May 4, perhaps a sign that he is working out of the mechanical issues that have dotted his first two months. Davis also overcame an illness, holding the Reds to two runs while walking three. He took a no-decision against the Pirates on Opening Day in Milwaukee, allowing two runs in six innings of an eventual Brewers win. (MLB.com)

Pittsburgh Pirates

Zach Duke - (2-6, 4.36 ERA)

Zach Duke's splits

Duke vs. Brewer hitters

Duke dropped his fourth straight decision, against the Diamondbacks, on Wednesday afternoon, allowing five runs -- four earned -- in six innings of work while striking out five. Duke wasn't hit all that hard, outside of a first-inning solo homer by Eric Byrnes, but the Pirates committed two errors, a run scored due to a wild pitch and a hit batter eventually came around to score as well. Duke has gone at least six innings in nine of his 10 starts this season. (MLB.com)

I'm really looking forward to this series, cautiously. I think its a really good chance for the Brewers to dispell a lot of demons in PNC in previous years, as well as improve their road record this year.

We'll all be watching De La Rosa closely tomorrow, and he has the opporitunity to majorly remedy the brewers pitching woes (or continue the revolving door).

A couple good matchups, but who knows what'll happen. It's a series against a team that is better than their record with a couple hot players right now, but its only one series and then we get to spend practically all of June at home.

The difference between 1-3 and 3-1 won't make or break this season for me.

It is not a make or break series, but I do want to see the Brewers play more consistently and get out of their habits of going on losing streaks on the road... winning or splitting this series would be a good step for this young team

Well I hope the bats come tonite, and pull us through this game.

We all know Santos is probably going to go the distance with a no-no tomorrow against us. We already hit him around once, and it's a night game = odds against us http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Prince Fielder with another one of his beautiful opposite field doubles, and for the 5th straight game, the Brewers are out to a 2-0 lead after an inning. (With the exception of yesterday, it was 2-0 after 2 innings).

Beautiful so far.

Throw strikes now Doug!
