Yeah, that was last Sunday's slugfest (that still managed to be a low scoring game). He didn't seem sharp, but I think in part that's compared to his other ultra stellar outings.

Was CC still recovering from his 130-pitch outing on the 18th? Do the Pirates have CC's number (relatively speaking)? I guess time will tell.

The one thing that gives me a little pause is that today is the first time in CC's Brewers tenure that he's faced a team twice.

Still, I'm not looking to be a downer. Go Brewers!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

yeah, I meant struggle for a CC outing. I think this time around will be different. He was coming off that extra days rest, and did pitch a lot of pitches the time before. The were also swinging at the first pitch, and when it did get to an 2 strike count, they would fight off a ton of pitches.

CC will dominate today!

Cameron's been our hottest hitter, so let's give him the day off. Hall also plays vs. the righty with Counsell in for JJ at short.

2B Rickie Weeks

SS Craig Counsell

LF Ryan Braun

1B Prince Fielder

RF Corey Hart

CF Gabe Kapler

3B Bill Hall

C Jason Kendall

LHP CC Sabathia

stay hot cameron, JJ...

What is the best way to keep a starters bat going. My guess is not benching them. So basically we trying to keep the bats on the bench warm at the expense of our starters + hall vs righty. Just had 3 days rest, this lineup is straight from neds gut. I absolutely hate it.

I understand keeping Kapler happy, and I would definitely understand extending the same courtesy to Rivera, but why exactly do we care about Counsell? Especially at the expense of JJ who's ripping the ball right now. Craig is one of the worst hitters in the majors right now. I'm quite positive he realizes he's sucked. Immediately subsequent to every weak pop-up he drops his head in resigned disgust. I would prefer to spread out playing scrubs at the very least if we insist on keeping them happy.

As opposed to other players' normal reactions when they pop it up?
Yes, it's different. It's almost as if he expects it at this point and he's a beaten man. Most other players either: a. don't care because they know it's an anomaly, or b. throw the bat and are hopping mad showing that they expect better from themselves.

its just too much tinkering. These guys don't need off (save for Kendall who for some reason broke the brewers games caught record this year). I'd bet cam or JJ would be happy playing every single innning for the rest of the year out. If you need to spell them at least wait for them to cool down. As for Craiger, his mere presence in the starting lineup at this point in the season is maddening. I agree with the above poster. He is at a point where he knows the only contribution he can make is with his glove.

I guess I'll defer to you, then, as I'm not an expert on determining the status of a person's psyche by viewing them through my television set.

I'm in the criminal justice field and part of my job is reading people by their body language, facial expressions, etc. I have a background in psychology as well. It's how he slumps his shoulders, shakes his head, looks depressed instead of angry, things like that which make it apparent.
