I'd love to put another beatdown on the Cards and bury their postseason hopes tonight

Well, at least throw a couple more scoops of dirt on them. Still too early to bury them yet.

It's at least getting up to their waist by now thou.

Phil Cuzzi behind the dish tonight. I would expect a frustrating night with the umpire. At least we get out of town before having Layne.

Cuzzi has it in for the Brewers (among others)...no doubt. This is by far the worst umpiring crew in MLB. I missed the game last night, but reading last night's thread and seeing all the ump comments were no surprise after finding out who was there.

We'll see at least one ejection tonight.

Most of the guys had their shirts untucked per usual, IIRC.

You're right. It's really chapping some folks down here in StL. Apparently some sports caster took of his coat and untucked his shirt at the end of his sports cast, mocking the Brewers.

The Cards announcers seem to have a particularly hard time with Untuckedness, as would my late grandmother. There seems to me to be a lot of tsk-tsking done when you're on the losing end, be it at home run styling or sartorial norms. I don't think we're in any danger of gaining anything like the bad reputation had by the Cubs or their fans, but even if we did, thumping the stake in the heart of the Cardinals playoff chances is worth it. (And you know who they'll come rooting for if the Cubs manage to make it to the NLCS).

The best part was "the best fans in baseball" pretty much abandoning their team in the later innings. There was barely anyone left in the park to give the Bronx cheers in the 9th inning.

As far as tonight goes, my hopes for the 2-game sweep increased dramatically when I saw the lineup LaRussa is putting out tonight:

SS Izturis

CF Mather

1B Pujols

RF Ludwick

3B Glaus

C Molina

LF Stavinoha

P Wainwright

2B Lopez

I don't recall if this was my least favorite umpiring crew or the one with Eddings was.

Yup, it is this one. Crew K.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Question, this is the first game I am able to watch in HD on Charter. Right now I'm getting the black bars on the sides of the TV, I take it the pregame is NOT in HD? And when the game starts I will get a full screen of HD awesomeness?
YOU GOT IT!!
