Quick time MP4 files: stuttering while playing with DivX and QuickTime7

I downloaded some Quick Time MP4 files today at work. When playing them on my work PC (Vista Business) and on my wife's PC (Vista Home), these media files play correctly. However, when I try to play them on my PC (Vista Home) using both DivX and Quick Time's free player, I get stuttering. Sounds like a codec issue, but I'm not sure.

 

Any thoughts?

Honestly, I think DivX and Quicktime player will use whatever codec you have installed.

 

Try downloading the K-Lite codec pack:

I use this on my windows media center box, and never have problems playing files of various formats.

I always use the VLC Player. It comes with all the codecs ready to go, and is pretty lightweight.
