Based on the lack of overnight activity here, I am guessing no one else listens to the Third Shift on Fox Sports Radio, but if you do

InsomniacInkRoss

I have become a fairly regular listener to the overnight show on 1250, Fox Sports Third Shift with "Big Ben" Maller

Nightly there is a segment called MLB Pick em' where a caller, the host, co-host, and a few other guys hanging around pick 3 MLB players for the next day. You are not allowed to pick players from your favorite team. You really should be picking good players as well.

I got thru last night and suffered much mockery for picking all former Brewers for my picks. I need Belliard, Overbay, and Helms to have reallllllly good nights to win this thing. If I do win, what are my next best 3 options to go with? Thoughts, suggestions? I am having trouble finding everyday player, that are former Brewers, and aren't batting .220 or less. And, for the the record, Belliard is pretty hot right now 12 for 24 in the last 7 days with a HR, and raising his season BA from .240 to .278 in the last 10 days.

LOL, I listen to that show if I'm up. They do that like right before 3 in the morning. I wish I could've heard this. As far as who to pick. If you actually do win (not likely) I say just randomly pick guys whether they're former Brewers or not. You have luck on your side if you win.

You pick three hitters, so you take three players, if you get the first pick in the first round, then you get the last pick in the second round and the first in the third round.

So it would go something like this.

Caller: Alex Rodriguez

Ben: Chase Utley

Karen Kay: Hanley Ramirez

The other guy whose name I can't remember: Ryan Braun

Then in the second round it would go like this.

The other guy: Pat Burrell

Karen Kay: Manny Ramirez

Ben: Ichiro

Caller: Alfonso Soriano

Third round would be the same order as the first round.

I think the points system is 1 point for a single, 2 for a double, 3 for a triple and 4 for a homer. I could be wrong.

So let's say the caller has Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriano and Grady Sizemore.

Rodriguez goes 2-4 with a single and double, Soriano goes 2-4 with a single and double and Sizemore goes 3-5 with 2 doubles and a homer. The caller would have 14 points, if the other guys can't beat 14 points then the caller wins.

the ability to pick 3 more ex-Brewers tonight?

no, nothing at all

it's just air filler, maybe thats why i like the show, its a bunch of light nonsense

If I win I am leaning towards picking only players making under $1,000,000, who should that be? Ankiel, Bruce, Soto...

Oh yeah, another rule is you can't pick a player from your favorite team. So Ross wouldn't be able to pick a current Brewer, Karen Kay is a Padres fan so she wouldn't be able to pick Adrian Gonzalez, Ben Maller is a Dodgers fan so he wouldn't be able to pick Manny Ramirez etc.

Let's see, players making under a million. How about Conor Jackson, Matt Kemp and Wisconsin's own, Eric Hinske?

I really wish I could get Fox Sports Radio, but the reception in Madison just sucks. I usually have a hard time getting it in on my car radio, so the house radio stands no chance.

On the same note, I get really bad reception of ESPN Radio as well. When the local station powers down for the day, it's just not very clear (at home), but in the morning when they power back up, it's clear. I live real close to the station, so I'd think that proximity would work in my favor, but not so much.

Back to Ross' topic....

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

I know it's 100.5...car reception is OK, but at home it is awful.
