Davis' Splits vs. Cincinnati

Davis has put together two straight quality starts, allowing five runs over 15 innings in consecutive no-decisions against the Nationals and Padres. He labored against San Diego on Thursday, but did not walk a batter for the first time in 15 starts this season, and escaped having allowed three runs in seven innings. Davis has struggled with command this season, but was sharp on May 24 at Cincinnati, when he limited the Reds to two runs on five hits in seven innings and got the win. (MLB.com)

Arroyo gave the Reds another excellent outing on Thursday night. He allowed one run on seven hits and struck out three in the Reds' 7-1 win over the Cubs at Great American Ball Park. He is now 8-2 with a 2.31 ERA, and is second in the National League in both wins and ERA. In two starts against the Brewers this season, he is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA. (MLB.com)

Well, it still could be painful if Davis goes and pitches for the Cardinals at PNC.

If good Doug shows up tonight, we have a chance. If the Reds give Arroyo a 4 run buffer, cover us in butter 'cause we're toast.

Hopefully we can get to Arroyo....................BAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAA. Ok, hopefully we can keep the game close and get to the bullpen later. Keep us within 1 and try to force Bronson's Pitch Count up so he is out by the 6th, and we have a shot.

Who is the homeplate ump tonight? The more "give" on the corners the better Doug does. When he gets pinched he has problems.

Arroyo has a 60 inch inseam according to the Red's media guide.

I heard a couple of cuts from Bronson Arroyo's CD, and he was singing "Hunger Strike" and another cover that I couldn't remember...but all I was thinking was, why is this guy singing? He doesn't have a good singing voice! Hopefully we get to him tonight and get to him early.

This baffles me.

A. Why does the Reds media guide have a player's tailoring measurements.

B. A 77-inch tall player has a 60-inch inseam? Unless he has no torso, I don't see how this is possible.

Either that or it was a joke that I didn't pick up on.

Did somebody threaten to Kill Ned's pet cockatiel or something? I am shocked and apalled that he moved Jenkins out of the three hole (well, not apalled, glad was the word I wanted)

He needs to hit himself out of this little slump, moving him down to 7th is fine for me, I guess.

That is some pretty nice table-setting ability in front of Lee/Fielder, with OBP's of .386, .383, and .353 in front of them. Arroyo's bound to come back to earth, and Davis is bound to revert to form with a second rock-solid start in a row, I think.

Brewers19,

Look at his picture that was posted in this thread, he looks like he is all legs, no torso.

Sigh Weeks was caught napping a bit on that play. I thought that the 1 baseman may have had the glove in front of the plate, but it looks like Weeks had his hands on the sides of the plate. I probably would have called him out too.
