Yount Custom McFarlane

that is cool...

there is no way that the guys who do these make any money when it comes to the time they put into these things...

On another note, Yount deserves his own real McFarlane imo... Maybe in a future HOF series perhaps?

I hate to be critical of other peoples work because these aren't easy to do, but he could have done better on it. The helmet shouldn't have yellow around the MB logo, and the name shouldn't be on the back of the jersey. I really like the packaging though. I probably only noticed because I'm doing that exact same one right now! I really like the custom packaging. I've never done that.

Here is my version of it. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

I did a Gumby too, but think i need to work on the pinstripes a little more before it is done.

I've got a few Younts, one with the Schmidt body, and 3 with the Jeff Kent body. My first "Kent-Yount" turned out nice, but the hair was too short and the color was off a bit. With the next ones I actually sculpted a mustache and longer hair onto the existing head. Turned out very well (IMO).

I've also been working on a Gantner, but I haven't gotten past the disassembly and priming steps. It's been sitting on my table for a month or two. But your Gumby looks pretty good. If you can put a mustache on him and find a pair of glasses, it would be close to perfect.

you guys have any plans on making a Sabathia?
I would love to. But, really - after knocking about 12 customs out in the early part of this year, I started a new job and I just haven't had a chance to think much about it. I haven't even explored which figures I'd need to put together to come up with the right body type.

I'm bringing this thread back from the past because I thought it was a good spot to show off my 2nd attempt at Hank Aaron. I hope no one minds. My first Aaron was a pretty poor attempt, something I threw together one night. This was a much better result. I'm not 100% happy with some of the stripes and I'm not sold on the yellow socks, but I think it's close.

The hardest part was actually the waistband. The original figure had a belt with loops that I had to cut out and sand down, then replace it with a smooth "elastic" band.
