Who will Cleveland pick? Latest -- It's Brantley for sure (reply #178ish)

Well Sizemore hits well enough to play a corner spot, but that decreases his overall value to the team going from way above average to slightly above. I believe he's only under contract for 2 more years as well, so Brantley could be the CF of the future there I guess.

Dont listen to gammons. It has not been released yet.

You just dont want us to drive to Massachusetts and hit Mass with big rocks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I double-checked with my sources today (heh, that's fun to say, I sound so "insider"), and I am confident (OK, somewhat confident, but can't guarantee) that I will not be pelted with big rocks, little rocks, etc. Now Gammons on the other hand...

Because we have a right to know before everyone else? We're just fans... It doesn't matter when they announce it, I'd just like the suspense to be over.

No, its not that we have the "right to know"......no offense agent I just get tired of all this, "I know but I'm not telling you, but here.....read my blog" posturing you got going on here. If I had inside information on something which I assume agent does, I'd either share it with everyone or not even bring it up and involve myself. What I wouldnt do is tell everyone I know and then refuse to tell them what it is. Again, I mean no offense to you agent, its just a pet peeve of mine.

Paul, I'm pretty sure he is sharing inside information by telling us that the Indians haven't made their choice yet because if they did, he or one of the players would have heard by now. I don't understand what else you want him to say. Its not like he can just openly tell us everything, this is his profession, and I think its very cool that he shares as much as he does now.

If Cleveland made their choice you'd think they would announce, so by saying they havent made a choice, thats not really inside information. WHat do I want him to say? I dont want him to say anything. But like I said, dont go bragging about how you know so much if you're not going to tell everyone else. Its childish. But I do apologize, I dont want to seem like the bad guy so i will drop it.

Well if agent it is saying it's one of his clients and it turns out that way I'd say he had insider information. From day one it's been limited to a select few prospects and from all accounts one of those prospects will be agents. I'd consider that inside information. I'm sure agent will inform us of all the going ons as he can once a decision is made.

Agent, I asked this before but I dont think you ever responded. Do you know who the pick will be? All I'm looking for is a yes or a no. If you say yes I wont ask who or make any other comments, I am just curious. If the answer is no, how do you know its one of your clients?

This from Wednesday MJS.

Deal deadline closer: The deadline for completing the CC Sabathia trade is next Monday. Because the Brewers made the playoffs, Cleveland gets to choose the "player to be named." Had the Brewers fallen short, they would have named the player.

"It might be the same guy, you never know," said general manager Doug Melvin. "They might be split on the player or else they would have decided already. They're looking at medical records now."

Melvin wouldn't reveal the minor leaguers on the list provided but the names that come up most often are outfielder Michael Brantley, third baseman Taylor Green and catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Whomever the Brewers lose, Melvin said he can live with it because of Sabathia's impact in making the playoffs.

"We have no regrets," said Melvin. "CC is the guy who got us here."

They are looking at medical records, so it must be either Brantley or Green...of course, we all but knew that.

Considering Brantley finished the year playing and Green did not, I'd say that leans towards them looking at Taylor, like Mass has said. Mike is rather light and thin, so I would not think that'd be a medical records thing, more of a "get him on weights and 3000 calorie shakes" thing.

With the usual disclaimer that it is Haudricourt reporting this, it is interesting that he mentions "the list" since for so long there have been a lot of reports that the Indians are dead set on Player A and the Brewers choice is to ship out Player B, which always sounded kind of bizarre to me.

In fact, most of the discussion in this thread has been incredibly bizarre http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
