don't really like CC out there this innings. Yost could have double switched out Hall for Counsell and let Villanueva get a couple innings in here. CC doesn't need to throw 120 pitches every night, especially with a 6 run cushion.

I'm going to be really upset if Sabathia is useless in October because he's throwing 114 pitches with a 6 run lead against an offensively inept team.

That said, even though he has labored, yet again, CC was very impressive.

What is an acceptable rate for a 2B to convert double plays at? I have no idea what's average, except that it's not 100%.

No, I'm not trying to suggest that Weeks is even an average defensive 2B. I've been arguing for years to move him. Of course, I was advocating starting a guy there that has since changed positions twice.

Three notes:

-Last year, it took the Brewers 138 games to reach their 70th win. This year, it took the Brewers 17 fewer games.

-Last year, the Brewers did not earn their 70th win until after Labor Day (Sept 4). The Brewers have won their 70th game on Aug 13 in '08.

-The Brewers have to go 20-21 to reach 90 wins.

115 pitches is fine. He isn't developing. He finished off the 7th and that was that. That's fine. I can't believe people are actually complaining about something. And this? Complaining a guy like him is throwing 115 pitches? He's averaging about 110 pitches a game which is fine.

Get real. They know what they're doing.

proof reader please...cbssports is hiring..this is copied and pasted from tonights game notes

Notes

The eight-game winning streak matches Milwaukee's season high. ... Padres rookie shortstop Scott Kazmar had a memorable major league debut with a single in his first at-bat on the first pitch he saw against Sabathia. Kazmar was recalled from Double-A San Antonio on Tuesday. ... Brewers LF Ben Braun sat out his fourth consecutive game with tightness in his lower back.
