I have pondered and argued this for a while, I can't think of anything cooler than the Borg-Warner

That trophey in the original post looks like one from a horror movies that trapped the souls of many lost men throughout the years.

I'll agree that it's the Stanley Cup. Not only is it big, has everybody's name on it, and looks really cool, but it's the only championship trophy that the winners actually run (skate) around with after they win it. I've never seen any other sports trophy being run around the arena/playing field after the title (exception: I guess I do remember Reggie White doing it with the Lombardi Trophy.)

 

Plus, every member of the winning team, from the players to the coaching staff to the front office (maybe even the middling staff, like ushers, ticket sales, etc. but I'm not sure) gets to take the trophy home with them and, basically, do whatever they want with it. Want to eat breakfast cereal out of it? You bet! How about take it to a strip club? Bingo! Pretty much anything goes.

Kind of small, kind of ugly but every 4 years billions of people around the entire World are interested in who wins it.

That's easy.. Stanley Cup. It has partied with the likes of Pantera.

Don't get me wrong, the Stanley Cup is awesome, and it was down to that or the Borg Warner

 

I think getting your face attached to the trophy beats just a etched name, I also have been a big Indy Car fan my whole life

 

The world cup is ok, but its only been around since 1974, and is short and ugly

 

Borg-Warner has been around since the 1930's, and there is enough room on it thru the 2038 race. Much like the Stanley Cup, there is only the one. The Stanley Cup has sort of been around longer, but has been changed and redesigned a lot.

Fans of the NHL's Dallas Stars were treated to a raucous fight song penned by Pantera and dedicated to their favorite hockey team during the Star's 1999 Stanley Cup Championship run. Throughout the season members of the team befriended members of Pantera. During a Stanley Cup party hosted by drummer Vinnie Paul, the Stanley Cup was damaged when an unidentified player attempted to throw the cup from the roof of Vinnie Paul's house into his pool. The Cup landed short on the concrete deck and had to be repaired by NHL commissioned silversmiths.
