Dave, I would appreciate you not replicating your last outing at GABP.

It doesn't bother me as much that Counsell is starting, it just cracks me up that Counsell's place in the batting order is completely determined by what position he is playing...2B = leadoff, SS = 2 hole and at 3B = Counsell instantly becomes a power hitter and protects Hart from the 6 spot. Brilliant.

Until the top two spots in the order start getting on base, the RISP problem won't get better. With nobody to hit in, guys like Braun and Fielder are left sitting on the basepaths when they're depending on guys like Craig Counsell and Jason Kendall to hit them in, and it's pretty frustrating to watch. Here's to hoping Durham and Hardy can actually get on base tonight, and Prince envisions the baseball as Manny Parra's head and hits a few out.

I'll take slumping Bill Hall

I'd like to see Hall continue his "slump" like he did in July - .288/.350/.548.

I don't mind Counsell either, but enough is enough. I'm sure Branyan will be pinch-hitting with no one on and 2-out in the 6th or 7th tho, yeah.

I seriously cannot believe that Kendall is starting again

I seriously cannot believe that Counsell is starting (at 3B) again.

That too! And I agree that it is hilarious that Ned determines Counsell's spot in the order by what position he is playing. Maybe it shows just how simple Ned really is.

What infuriates me is Prince playing today. We all knew Ned was a "player's manager" but I now know that he lets the players manage him. To have not suspended him at least 1 game sets a prescedent to the team that no matter what you do as a detriment to the team, you'll receive from your manager 100% support in his post-game press conference and can expect to hit right back where you were the day before in that night's lineup. This is the type of stuff that makes me believe Ned will not manage this team in 2009. If we miss the playoffs after yet another second half collapse and acquiring CC, Attanasio will be cleaning house and Ned & all of his cronies will be shown the door.

I want to see Counsell spot start for Fielder one day, just to see if Yost bats Craiggers 4th. I really do.

Hilarious...I was thinking the same thing. How about this for tomorrow's jv lineup game =

2B - Hall

SS - Counsell

LF - Kapler

1B - Rivera

RF - Hart

3B - Branyan

CF - Cameron

C - Hamel (just kidding - you know Kendall will be in here)

P - Soup

How do we know that Ned didn't tear into Prince and the other players behind closed doors last night? According to TH, the media wasn't allowed in the locker room immediately after the game like they usually are -- it wouldn't surprise me if Yost lectured both Prince and Manny after last night's incident.

Ned's only responsibility is to win baseball games. Sitting Prince tonight would likely cost the Brewers the game, and then he'd be getting blasted by the media for putting his own personal agenda ahead of winning games while they're trying to win the wildcard.
