I'll keep taking 2 out of 3 on the road the rest of the way. Let's make winning the Reds series a bit easier by taking this one tonight!

Prince stays hot tonight and Braun rejoins him! I want to see them both going at the same time.

Just in case your reading this Prince, don't let this guy get away with the reckless promotion of these products that harm animals and the environment! He is your sworn enemy and the only way to defeat him and his meat-eating brethren is to take him yard three times tonight.

And if that isn't enough inspiration, how about you take him deep because he's such a nerd.

Tom Hardricourt is perplexed:

You don't have to be hot

By Tom Haudricourt

... to be in the Brewers' lineup.

Many residents of Slump City can be found in the lineup the Brewers will send out against Bronson Arroyo tonight at Great American Ball Park:

2B Rickie Weeks

SS J.J. Hardy

LF Ryan Braun

1B Prince Fielder

RF Corey Hart

3B Craig Counsell

CF Mike Cameron

C Jason Kendall

LHP Manny Parra

I'm perplexed as well. Why is Counsell getting so much time at 3rd lately? I know Hall and Branyan aren't lighting the world on fire right now, but they hit homers and Hall is always tough against the Reds.

With Counsell, I can only think that with the offense struggling mightly right now, he's looking for guys that can make contact with the ball. You give yourself a much better chance to get on base when you swing the bat, rather than watch strike 3 fly right down the middle and then looked perplexed at why the ump called you out.

Counsell hit .174 in July and struck out twice Saturday.

Just sayin'.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

I'm sure Tom wants Kapler to start over Cameron. He's like 95% of baseball fans out there. It only takes about 100 AB before they are convinved that a career backup is a whole new player and should start over an established player. After that backup inevitably starts playinglike he always has, they'll conveniently forget it and find a new backup to scream for.

But Tom should actually be happy. The reddddddd hottttt Counsell is in there. Nevermind his 100's of crappy ABs. He's seeing the ball really well right now! Honest!

And for those who constantly complain about the Brewers offense... How many bad games (less than 3 runs) is a good offense allowed to have and still be good overall? I'm guessing that the answer to that would be in fantasy land. This notion that a consistent offense exists somewhere out there is a figment of your imaginations.

Russell Branyan since the All Star break: .286/.348/.571 .919 OPS. Of course that's only 23 plate appearances because Ned refuses to play him. 6 hits, 2 walks, 4K, 1 homer, 3 doubles, 1 rbi, 6 runs scored.

Craig Counsell since the All Star break: .167/.211/.167 .378 OPS. That's 3 singles over 19 plate appearances, 3 Ks, 1 walk, 0 runs scored, 0 rbi.

I didn't take into account Counsell's recent performance. When I made my comment, it was only in reference to he amount of SO's per at bat for Hall, Branyan, and Counsell over the course of the season. How bad does it suck that out of 3 guys, the Brewers can't get anyone to do a decent job on a consistent basis.

Oh, I'll play. Since July 1st - Counsell 7-31 4BB 4K Branyan 8-40 3BB 10K

Blindfold or no blindfold? Cigarette or no Cigarette?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif And against Arroyo both are .333 (Counsell 4-12, Branyan 2-6)

Looks like Cameron hits him well, that would be cool.
