Why do announcers always say that it doesn't help to hit one out of the ballpark when they need 2 runs?

It is such a STUPID statement because they will take a run any way they can get it and maybe the next guy will also hit a HR and then the game is tied-- or is there a rule against back to back home runs. It is just a stupid statement that gets me.

The bottom of the ninth pretty much sums up how our offense has been recently. Swining at pitches out of the zone and taking strikes.

This is the most infuriating team to watch. One series they look like world beaters, the next they look worse than the Pirates. And I have very little confidence in getting a win tomorrow. Davis pretty much has to pitch a complete game shutout for us to have a chance.

I predict the wheels fall off the bandwagon tomorrow (and then of course we'll sweep Arizona next weekend and be dreaming of the playoffs yet again).

Well I guess it's better than being 15 games out of the race like we usually are at this point. When you actually care about every game the "highs" of the season are a lot higher and the "lows" (i.e. tonight) are a lot lower.

Our inconsistent offense is beyond frusturating. But that's what happens when you've got a line-up full of guys looking to hit a homerun in every single at-bat, no matter the situation. Even a split in this series is a huge disappointment.

Hey dont get me confused with this guy who copied my screename. I am not a negative fan!

Relax we will be ok. The White Sox are said to be looking for a big bat and have Vasquez Garland or another pitcher free.

But the way it is looking we need a hot bat now...from somewhere.

All these Cubs fans in here make the Cubs feel like they own the place.
