Cubs finish against the NL West at 23-10, can Brewers match?

obobo55
That is right, the Cubs are done with the weak NL West for the season. They did very well for themselves, gaining 13 games over .500 (they are +16 overall, 37-34 against all other teams). The Crew is currently 15-8 with 10 games remaining, meaning to match their record they would need to go 8-2 over the final 10. 4 home games against the Padres and one 6 game trip through SD and LA. Probably would require a home sweep and a 4-2 trip to do it. I would be very happy with 7-3.

7 games left against the padres is an advantage. If they're able to avoid peavy in either series it becomes an even bigger advantage.

To answer the question, they'll probably fall a game or two short. 3-1 at home and 4-2 on the road sounds about right.

I sense the expectations are creeping up here... Be prepared, I'm sure the Brewers have another losing streak/rough patch in them this season. Could be the west coast trip, you never know.

I'll just be happy to go .500 on the road the rest of the way out and pick up 4-6 more games at home. That'd be 95-97 wins, yowza.

To get to 95-97 wins, they are going to need to play better than .500 on the road. To get there, they need to win 35-37 of their last 58 games, or 60-64% of their games. If they go 14-13 on the road, they would need to go 21-10 at home to get to 95 wins.

I would be thrilled if we finished 91-71 (31-27 the rest of the way). That should win us ATLEAST the wild card, and maybe even the division

18-13 at home and 13-14 on the road gets us there.......

Looking at the remaning series:

1-0 Houston

2-2 Chicago

1-2 @Atlanta

2-1 @ Cincinnati

3-1 Washington

1-2 @Los Angeles

1-2 @San Diego

3-0 Pittsburgh

2-1 Houston

1-1 @ St. Louis

2-1 @ Pittsburgh

2-1 New York

2-1 Cincinatti

3-1 San Diego

1-3 @Philly

1-2 @Chicago

2-1 @Cincinnati

2-1 Pittsburgh

2-1 Chicago

I count 34 Wins the rest of the way That gets us to 94-68 (34-24) Meaning if we lose 3 games we should win, we're still 91-71

22-9 at home

12-15 on the road
