Man V. Lawnmower

I love Wisconsin http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The best part is the line at the end from the guy at the garden shop.

Man charged with shooting lawn mower

Keith Walendowski is charged with shooting a lawn mower.
A 57-year-old south side man, who might have been struggling with a hangover, is charged today with shooting his lawn mower with a sawed-off shotgun.

"I'll tell you the truth," a criminal complaint quotes an apparently inebriated Keith Walendowski. "I got pissed because my lawn mower wouldn't start, so I got my shotgun and shot it.

"I can do that. It's my lawn mower and my yard, so I can shoot it if I want," Walendowski told police.

Ignorance of the law, however, is not a legal defense.

Walendowski is charged with a felony count of possessing a short-barreled shotgun and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct while armed. If convicted of both charges, he faces up to six years and nine months in prison.

The shooting occurred Wednesday at a home Walendowski shares with his mother in the 3500 block of S. Austin St.

According to the complaint, Walendowski had been drinking all morning. Around 9:30 a.m., he attempted to start his 21-inch Lawn-Boy - unsuccessfully.

After shooting the mower, he went in his basement, where he was arrested by police, the complaint says.

Police recovered the shotgun, shells, a handgun, rounds for the handgun and a stun gun.

Dick Wagner of Wagner's Garden Mart, 6075 N. Green Bay Ave., said shooting the mower didn't help Walendowski's odds of getting it repaired.

"Anything not factory recommended would void the warranty," he said.

I bet that man can party with the best of 'em!

Drinking all morning? Define "all morning"--is that since 1AM, 5AM??

Either way, don't take that crap from your mower, Keith, show it who's boss.

Dude, you got it all wrong. You expect this kind of crap from a Craftsman. We're talking Lawn-Boy here.

I mean, no wonder he was mad.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

My real problem with this is that if Keith was drinking all morning, why would he ruin it by doing yardwork? Usually, one does yardwork and then kicks back with a couple of cool ones. Keith, you were onto something and then ruined it all by deciding to get productive and mow the lawn.

I'll bet you he kicked that mower a few times before going to the shotgun. Kick. Kick. Boom! That will show ya!

this story made my wife feel much better that i only kicked a couple things and cursed a couple times when my lawn mower wouldnt start a couple weeks back.

thanks to the good folks at lowe's, i took it back for a brand new one that has been fantastic since...no kicking or cursing needed!

Please re-read the first sentence: "south-side man".

I read it the first time, second time and third time I read it, and laughed every time. It seems like Sheboygan is the congregating place for drunk people to do really stupid things. It's somewhat sad to see that the drunks are migrating. Look out Wisconsin!
