Man, is Sutton really that bad tonight?

Yeah, he's been bad. The thing that pisses me off about Sutton is that he COULD be decent, if he wouldn't constantly dumb down his broadcast and over-compliment every stinkin player in the league. He's apparently "baffled" because this just isn't the Zach Duke everybody's used to seeing. Apparently he hasn't really checked his numbers this year. I think he is an excellent interviewer, and he COULD be a decent announcer, he just chooses to be ridiculously bad.

Jenkins is hitting .355 with a 1.001 OPS in July, there is no reason he should sit against anyone other than normal rest until he cools down. Historically when he's seeing the ball well he hits lefties just fine. I would play him every day and if Yost starts to sit him full time for some unproven rookie I'd actually be upset.

That's 5.

You guys can feel free to keep scoring and outpace my prediction, though.

I don't care how hot Jenkins has been this month. He still sucks as bad as a pitcher vs. lefties. There's no reason for him to be starting against lefties he just hasn't performed.

Jenkins generally carries around a .730 OPS vs lefties, the fact he has struggled a bit more this year is irrelevant, when he is on he always hits lefties just fine and when he's not he hits them poorly. When he's on he's an .800+ OPS type hitter vs them, when he's not he's a sub .700. I have no issues sitting him sometimes against them when he's not seeing the ball well, but when he's hot he needs to play every single day, period.

I would consider Yost a bad manager if he started to platoon then full time while Jenkins was hot and I'm glad he's playing him today.
