Except that we are 8th in runs per game, 1st in slugging and 8th in OBP. It would appear in part that some of the problem of the solo HR is a self inflicted wound with not enough players being patient and getting more men on.

On the other hand using the quick and dirty OXS formula we would be predicted to have scored 312 runs so far instead of 288.

I was looking at the standing on Yahoo and noticed the Brewers have a winning record agianst the NL East. All we ever seem to hear is they wouldn't be winning in any other division yet they manage to win more than they lose in two of the three NL divisions. The NL West is where they have had real problems. Then agian the only NL West team they faced at home was the Dodgers. Which happens to be the only team in the west we have won as many as we lost.

Aren't we also 3 and 3 in interleague play against the AL central? Must be hitting them all while they are playing poorly I guess.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

If the Brewers win today they will have a .500 record or better against all the divisions in the NL and the AL central. Many felt the Brewers only won because of the division they played in. They really are starting to show they can win in any division.

I was going to put this in the Vent thread, and then I realised it probably actually was better here;

Please stop the moaning and really silly complaints about Craig Counsell, and Tony Graffinino.(you know who you are)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

These two guys are doing all that was and is expected of them, and probably more. Their value as utility infielders is something that a whole lot of ML teams would love to have, and they have proven it time and again. Are they starting material, hell no, they know it, DM and Ned know it, but they can fill in at two or three different positions, and the drop off, while noticable, does not lose games in and of itself. The value of veteran knowledge on a team as young as ours is an a factor that cannot be measured, and even Bill James acknowledges that it exist, just cant put a number on it.

This is my thank you to Doug Melvin, Ned, Tony and Craig.

(believe it or not, the Crew would be worse without them)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

As long as that veteran leadership doesn't block younger, better players, why would anyone have a problem having it?

Don't look now, but if the Cubs win their next 2 games they will no longer be losers. I was not sure if that belonged here, but putting Cubs and losers in the same sentence always makes me smile.

On a different note, if Ben Sheets wins his next 3 starts he will finally be a "winner". I am glad he finaly figured out how to win.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.
