7/21/08 Brewers (McClung) at Cardinals (Pineiro): 6:05 CDT

The baseball gods will certainly punish the Brewers for winning a game in which Mota and Gagne pitched, and Torres blew a save, and the Cubs lose a Harden no-hit bid. Although they may not need to intervene, with Lohse and Suppan pitching tomorrow.

edit: I'm done. I'll see you guys tomorrow.

Come one dude we know you are still watching plus if you leave who is going to keep me from swearing in the IGT?

Well, sure, I watched the rest of the game. But I logged off brewerfan.net for the rest of the night. I just needed to step away from it and concentrate my energies toward the television and the Brewers.

Okay, I also didn't want to smash up my laptop in anger. That was a key to the decision.

I am very happy I was able to witness the Bizarro Brewers, as it might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity:

1) Mota pitches a scoreless 6th in a one-run game.

2) Gagne pitches a scoreless 7th in a one-run game.

3) Torres blows a save.

4) Torres bats in the 10th (and hits the crap out of the ball, although it was caught).

5) McClung gets a nice hit to extend a rally.

6) Kendall has multiple extra-base hits.

7) Hall rakes against righties.

8) Hall steals second on Molina.

9) Braun goes 0-6 on a night where the rest of the team gets 16 hits.

10) The home plate umpire was GOOD.

11) Nobody on the Brewers swung at bad pitches.

It was unreal, I couldn't believe it as it happened. What a huge win.

Did some number crunching on adding 10 wins. That would be a WARP of .062 per game. We've played 100 games. So Weeks would have a WARP 6.2 higher than what it is now (2.7). That would mean he would have a WARP of 9.8 right now. That's MVP numbers to reach that in 162 games, let alone in only 100. I think that shows how unrealistic it is for one player to cause a 10 game swing in the nubmers. Looking at it in that light, CC only adding 2 wins seems really accurate.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.
