Spur of the moment deal. Got a hotel room for Monday and Tuesday night. Found replacements at the bar so I could go. Can't wait!!!!!

 

We're staying at the Holiday Inn, downtown St Louis. Heard there is a couple of casinos down there. What else is in the area?

Same here. Kind of spur of the moment. Probably tenting it up somewhere Monday and Tuesday night with a couple friends. Weirdos, have you gotten game tickets yet?

Yeah, we got tickets online. Printed them out.

 

Monday: Section 164, row 13, seats 2, 3, 4

Tuesday: Section 163, row 26, seats 2, 3, 4

 

Pretty cool how you can print your tickets right out. No will call.

 

Three of us sharing a $100/night hotel = $67 per night

Splitting gas 3 ways = $50 per person

Tickets for two nights = $120 per person

There is a beautiful new casino right downtown, think there is a club in there as well. The "Landing" area night spots are a short trip from where you are staying. Should be plenty to do, I would follow the crowds after the game. Pati-o's is a pretty cool post game outdoor bar right across from the stadium.

I will be there as well. We are planning on going to the zoo, the Holocaust Museum, and a couple other non-baseball things during the daytimes.

Science Center is pretty cool, even Union Station can be neat to see. At US they have a few restaurants you can sit outside at, enjoy that muggy Missouri air!

Well, overall a great trip! 2 big victories. Maybe the signature wins of the year for the Crew. Monday's game was sweltering to say the least. At 9pm, it was still 95 and super humid. A few ice cold Bud Lights kept me pretty hydrated. Was mad that Weeks was starting. He shut me up with his shot to Big Mac Land. My bar manager was sitting next to me. He broke his sunglasses when Torres blew the save. Tuesday's game was only 89 at gametime. Almost felt cool. Broke out my Sheets home jersey for the first time in about 2 years. I figured a white shirt made alot of sense. Figured Suppan would be on some sort of pitch count and we'd see Bush or Villy. Very suprised to see Soup go 7 innings. A number of clutch hits made this trip very memorable. We had a great time. Headed back on I-55 now. I will say the Cards fans did not disappoint. Very classy. It reminded me of when Weeks went to Big Mac Land when he was a rookie. They have very knowledgable fans. The icing on the cake was watching the Cubs lose after the game both nights. The fans in the bars were quite happy tha they haven't lost ground to the Cubs. I will be coming back here someday. Great fans. Great Park.

Wow - great game last night. Really nice stadium, and I'll echo the statement about the fans. With only a couple exceptions, everyone was extremely friendly considering they just got Halled twice. Of the several people that came up to us and started talking baseball, one said "Well, I guess as long as it's not the Cubs, we'll let you guys have one this year" and another said "I'll be honest, I really want to punch you in the face right now because of that game, but I hope you're enjoying St. Louis." I only wish we would have had more time to see the city. Oh and an air matress for the tent. Definitely planning to go back for the two-gamer in August.
