7/20/08 Brewers (Parra) at Giants (Lincecum): 3:05 CDT

obobo55

I won't say what it is, but this will be the fifth time we have attempted it this year, each time we have failed.

I know Lincecum will be tough, but I think we can do it tomorrow. Manny should be well rested and SF is not a great offensive team. Can't wait for the game tomorrow...

any chance that Lincecum could be "off" today due to his bout with the flu this week? Sure would be nice if we caught a break like that.

We've done a number on Lincecum twice, he's done one on us once. The Brewers have just dominated the Giants this year, the run differential is something else, and the bats have been on fire the last two days. Figure in too that the Giants stink at home and Manny is no slouch--heck, I even wonder what mental effect the possible Ray-Ray/Taschner deal going down today would have on the Giants. That's gotta be a downer.

You'd have to think that with perhaps the best NL pitcher of the season on the mound for them today, the Giants would have the advantage, but we'll see. I won't bring a broom out to the park today, but we'll see.

Depressing, yet hopeful stat of the day:

5 longest current droughts of no road series sweeps (minimum 3 game series)

5. Baltimore Orioles, since May 28-30, 2007

4. Atlanta Braves, since April 2-5, 2007

3. San Diego Padres, since July 24-26, 2006

2. Texas Rangers, since May 2-4, 2005

1. Milwaukee Brewers, since June 29-July 1, 2004

Go Brewers!

Despite all of the side stories, this game comes down to whether or not Lincecum has his A stuff. If he does, we aren't winning.

Not if they can't score runs. Cmon Manny, all we are asking for is a shutout so we can win in the 11th.

Extra Innings is not running any of the West Coast games because ESPN's Sunday Night Game is two hours earlier than normal for the ESPY's.

Boo!

I'm a fanatic with both EI and MLB.TV, so I'm tied to my PC instead of my recliner. Better than nothing...

I looked on DirecTV's website and it gave me a channel for the game. So we'll see here in about a minute or so if it happens. What's the point of "see your team wherever you live", if the game isn't shown on the package that you pay an arm and a leg for? Ticks me off. And I can't watch it. BOOOO!!!!

Sorry folks...from DirecTv's website.

"ESPN maintains their exclusive national broadcast window for all Major League Baseball games on Sunday nights, therefore, no telecast can be made available for out-of-market distribution. As their rights are for night games only, any games which start after 5:00pm ET (2:00pm PT) cannot be distributed out-of-market. However, on the first Sunday after the All-Star Game (7/15/08), no game with a start time after 3:00pm ET (12:00pm PT) can be distributed out-of-market."
