I don't own either game - would you recommend just getting Arkham City?

Honestly, without spoiling anything, the writing, script, and voice acting in Arkham City is head and shoulders above almost anything out there in the video game world right now.

Once I tire of Arkham City, I have Uncharted 1, 2, and 3 all ready to roll.

You're going to completely revise that first statement after you play Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. I think maybe the reason I was disapointed in AC was because I had just played Uncharted 2 and then went to Uncharted 3 after.
Nah. I've played the Uncharted and Arkham City, and AC gets the nod for sure. Uncharted 3 isn't much different from the previous games. AC is head and shoulders better than AA. Don't get me wrong, both franchises are good, but Uncharted is just Indiana Jones as a game. The Batman games are great super hero epics. And the ending to AC was the best I've ever seen in any game.

Yeah it was..........incredible. Very creepy, and haunting. I can't say much more here without putting up spoilers for those who haven't played it, but it would have been awesome if DC and WB and Rocksteady all collaborated to make that the actual curtain call for that character. The "New 52" put that to rest though.

I put about 2 hours into Uncharted 1 last night, and while the story is interesting so far, the amount of puzzle solving and ridiculous platforming is incredibly annoying. Some of the platforming sections require you to be ultra-precise with your landing and takeoff spots, and that's annoying when sometimes, the camera is adjustable, and sometimes, it's not.

Doesn't Drake let you know if you can make it or not by the way he orientates his body before jumping? I don't remember this problem at all, at least from 2 and 3.

Not really. There's times where you're not sure if you can make it, so you jump, find out you can't, die, and start over. I did finish Uncharted 1 last night, and while it was fun, had a cool story, and I'll get right into Uncharted 2, the amount of CHEAP deaths was enough that I can say for sure that a 17 year old me would have rage smashed at least 3 controllers. I will say that the new enemy type (the cannibal/vampire/zombie/whatever they were) introduced in the latter 1/3rd of the game really amped up the 'creep' factor, but I was just dying so often, that dying because of these guys just didn't have a lot of impact I guess. I'm hoping 2 has less 'real time' button pressing events, a little more consistency with the platforming, and a little tighter gunplay. I will say that for a game released in 2007, the graphics could still be called 'amazing', even by today's standards, and that's saying a lot.

If you stuck toothpicks under my fingernails, and made me give the game a score, I'd call it a solid 8/10, whereas Arkham City gets a 10/10.

However, I know that Uncharted was Naughty Dog's first big Adventure/Platformer game like this, so I expect 2 and 3 to get exponentially better, just like Arkham City was better than Asylum.

Lastly, I also got the God of War PSP anthology, which I never played on the PSP anyways, so now I'll get to play those on the PS3, and experience them in full HD glory. God of War 3 was absolutely incredible (for anyone that hasn't played it), so I expect good things out of this combo pack.

After that, I still have Assassins Creed: Revelations still in the plastic, which I have to get around to, and I put a down payment on the Collectors Edition of Diablo III. I honestly don't know when I'm going to get a chance to play all this stuff.

Well you are entitled to your opinion. The major knock on the game from reviewers was that the story suffered from way to many underdeveloped characters, especially when compared to the first game. I completely agree.

Please post a review of Dead Island once you've played it. I've heard good things too, but 'm still on the fence about it.

Fantastic zombie game. Much more fun playing it online with friends though.

This. I played with my buddy over XBL and we had a blast. I love the weapon customization aspect, and the advanced swinging(think swing stick from MLB) is fun once you get used to it. The storyline is very solid, and not so short that you finish it within one sitting.

A button on the controller I bought with the Resistance/Res. 2 bundle was sticking, so I took the whole bundle & receipt back to Game Stop. I was expecting to have to trade the whole bundle back in, & just hope there was another controller/game(s) bundle, or have to settle for just getting a controller and like a $5 store credit. I dunno, call me a cynic.

Well, they took one look at the faulty button & just swapped out the controller, no questions asked. Thank you, Game Stop, for being very cool. I was definitely prepared for the opposite, so it was very refreshing.

Thanks for the feedback, RoCo. AC sounds like the way to go (& I played a decent amount of AA, I just didn't buy it).

Man, I sooo wish I'd found the controller bundle with Uncharted instead of Resistance. After playing Resistance for a bit, I'm really thinking it's not my type of game at all. But I'm not going to give up on it yet. Uncharted just looks so cool!

Well I should've posted a while back that Resistance completely won me over, it's a great game. I'm currently still stuck on the Goliath level (assuming it's near the end of the game)... first time I've had to face a Goliath & hopefully the last for this game. But tons of fun to play, great FPS. It kinda reminds me (in a good way) of playing Doom many moons ago -- kind of a scary game, but Resistance is obviously incredible. I wish I could get unstuck, because I want to finish & move on to Resistance 2.

And I picked up Uncharted recently, haven't played it much yet. Looking forward to it, even though I'm terrible at controlling player movement in that GTA-style third-person controls format. That jumped out at me right away, that I'll have to get better at that, but the game looks cool so far (I've played I think just the intro level).

Question to other Modern Warfare players: in MW2, the 'level' you unlock (called "Museum") after beating the game -- that level isn't playable in any real way, right? I noticed my solo campaign completion was listed at something like 75%, so I assumed I had to play "Museum", much like there was the bonus plane-hijackers level unlocked after beating MW1. I see that you can shoot any weapons you find, & obviously kill any of the characters in the museum exhibits... but there's nothing I'm missing here, right? I've looked all over the level & can't find any door to open or anything, so I'm assuming my remaining 25% of campaign play left to complete is something else.

I went back to MW2 to play the solo mini-games (or whatever they're called). I've convinced myself to try to complete them all on the toughest difficulty... takes me forever & a day. Very tough.

I'm on the first stealth/sniper mission, ostensibly in mountains somewhere near Russia. The only real beef I have is that if you alert the enemy to your position, they pour at you infinitely. Usually I just give up & restart, but once I actually grabbed a machine gun, & cut down a bunch of guys. That bought me about thirty seconds, and even hiding did nothing to prevent the next wave of guys from slaughtering me. I just wish you could clear an area & regain your stealth.

I've been catching up on old games I've missed. I finally felt my FPS skills were high enough and I just finished ME 1 several weeks ago. Maybe Bioware can find time to go back to good turn based RPGs now. Hopefully by the time I've gotten around to ME 2. ME 3 sounds awful.

Before ME I played The Saboteur. It was a pretty good game. Except for the part where EA closed and laid off Pandemic right before before the game released.

I'm going through Bully: Scholarship Addition right now. It's good, except for the missing errands bug.

If you ask an RPG fundamentalist he might classify it as a shooter and an FPS fan might call it an RPG. I think the reason it plays so well is because it falls somewhere in between. ME2 migrated more towards a shooter while tweaking some RPG aspects. I hope they don't take out even more of the role playing side in ME3 to include the multiplayer, but I have faith in Bioware to create a good game.

Yeah I am not to happy about multiplayer in an RPG. I definitely has more of an RPG lean than Borderlands. I am sure the game will be good but I also hope they do not take out much more of the RPG elements. They really dumbed down the RPG parts.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Diablo 3.... tomorrow.

Anyone else excited?

I'll be excited when the multiplayer comes out in a month(also, i'm super busy so i don't have time to play right now). Should be an excellent game though. Let me know how it plays.

Played about 20 minutes worth today, it's a beautiful game, and plays relatively similar to D2 so far. Truly hack 'n slash.

As far as I know, multiplayer co-op is already in the game. I was definitely grouping with friends during the beta.

I bought Diablo 3 directly from Blizzard yesterday (Monday). The 8 GB download for the game resulted in my cable modem traffic being throttled down well below 1MB/sec. I'm just hoping the game will be downloaded fully by the time I get home in a few hours.
