Grab a ball and take your dog for a walk through the forest. When you find a fence that sections off an area the dog can't get to, hold the ball out and make sure he gets a good look at it. Then throw it over the fence and laugh at the poor dog. He'll run back and forth along the fence, desperate to get his favorite toy that sits just out of reach. Xbox editor Ryan Geddes took particular pleasure in this dirty deed. What a jerk.

 

I like games where you can do cruel things just for fun.

I am bored at home and can't sleep so I figured I'd post the new Socom game coming out Oct. 19th (hopefully), is the only non sports game I am looking forward to getting. Great franchise, fell in love the Socom 2 and the online play is the best part.

 

I'll admit I will be one of those 1000s of people lined up outside gamestop on August 11th, waiting for the clock to strike to the next day to get Madden 09.

I have been playing the Too Human demo quite a bit. The camera is a little tough to get used to and it is strange using the right stick for attacking. Can't wait for the game to come out though.

 

The Bionic Commando remake is coming out on 8/13/08. XBLA and PSN as downloadable content.

I'm am excited for Gears of War 2. I loved the gameplay and the backstory. Now, most of that backstory was ignored in the original GOW, in favor of stupid one liners, but I suspect the second will have a better plot.

There were hints at a plot behind Gears of War especially at the end. It would be nice to find out why the Locust are making sink holes other than "cause they're bad." By the way, the COOP in GOW was awesome. Way better than Halo 3. I liked how people could drop in if you started the level.

I am really looking forward to NHL 09 now. Especially with this kind of news this sounds very interesting to play 6v6 hockey online with other players with you only controlling one player.

If you have an Xbox 360 and enjoy puzzle/platform games, download Braid. The story ain't half bad, and the main character Tim is one of my favorites from any game.

Well I am 0-2 on my list so far. Too Human had promise, but didn't really deliver. I rented it and palyed through in about 14 hours. That was even with replaying the first level. The Force Unleashed looks like it is getting pretty poor reviews and can be played through in a couple days at most. Looks like another rent to me. I just can't justify buying a game that can be played though over the weekend especially if that game has no replay value. On the other hand, I am having fun playing Mercenaries 2. Lots of stuff to blow up.

I haven't even picked up any of the games on my list; passed on Madden thusfar (pun intended), and am waiting for Rock Band 2 on the PS3.

Just under halfway through R&C F:ToD (PS3) and am really enjoying it. Will definitely get the PSN sequel ("Quest for Booty").

Heck, I can tell you that.

New tracklist (go to Wikipedia), plus you can upload all of your RB1 DLC, and for an extra $5 - all of the songs from RB1 (except for about 3 songs, due to licensing. I'm also assuming you have the 360/PS3 version of the game)

New instruments (I'm not buying; PS3 already has wireless guitars....although the PS3 version of RB2 will finally work with Guitar Hero guitars, something they've recently patched into RB1).

No more band leaders on the World Tour; more options for your avatar....pretty much more of everything. Plus, you can issue performance-based challenges to friends with the game. PS3 version also adds trophy support.

 

Edit: Speaking of DLC, PS3/360 owners can enter a contest to win their choice of a free DLC song. (I only mention because I just won one.)

The over the net bands is something that should have been in one. NowI need to convince more friend to get rock band so we can rock.

i'd like to get guitar hero 4 when it comes out. maybe the drums from GH4 will work for the drums of rockband. If that's the case, I will be very happy.

 

I'm trying to decide if I should get a wii. It seems like a bunch more games I'd like that may not be available for the wii, but I couild be wrong. The wii is so doggone fun though! I should research it more, but I'd like to check out final fantasy type games. I wish GTA4 was available on wii, or hope it is soon.

The publisher of Ghostbusters, Activision, is no longer planning on publishing this game so as of right now the game is cancelled. There are rumors that Sony is going to buy the rights to publish which would probably make this game exclusive to the PS3 and PSP. It also means the game isn't going to be released any time soon. Stay tuned.

 

I'm having a fun time with the new Viva Pinata on the Xbox 360. I'm not sure if it's available on the Wii, but I highly recommend picking it up. It's a lot like the first game, but with some upgrades, tweaks and new pinatas.

Doubt it would be on Wii as it is made by Rare who is owned by Microsoft.

No Viva Pinata on the Wii (it's made by Rare Software, who Microsoft bought out from Nintendo during the prior generation of consoles), although there is a DS game that came out recently.

 

Very good summary of the Ghostbusters scenario; I didn't want to try to explain it myself. 2009 is the 25th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters movie, so there is some thought that the game will be delayed until next year (if it ever gets completed). Sony is thought to be interested in having the game completed because the Ghostbusters franchise is a Sony property.

Crysis (PC) was released last November. Their newest game, Crysis Warhead, came out last week.

I've been enjoying Force Unleashed on the Wii. I'm not quite sure why it has gotten such terrible reviews. It certainly is buggy, and suppsoedly can be beaten in ~8 hours (I'm 6 hours in) but the gameplay is pretty damn fun. I'm guessing it is going to end up being a lot like Fable for me, a short game that is fun enough that I don't mind playing through it from time to time.
