Fall/Winter videogame lineup

logan82

So the gf just got me a PS3, because she's awesome. And I know FIFA '12 is coming out soon. So what I'm wondering is if anyone has FIFA '11, & would trade it for any of the following:

- 7-1/2 size 59Fifty Brewers fitted hat (I have two -- current, & ball/glove); never worn (wrong size for my huge head)

- Free tickets to Timber Rattlers

I know this is random fishing, but I figured if it had a chance anywhere, it'd be here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I have multiple free T-Rats tix, really could do about any reasonably-sized request for quantity there.

Maybe I'm the only one who hates this, but I'm pissed that The Show changed the guess pitch in this years game. I understand that they wanted to make it more realistic, but I don't play games for realism, I play to have fun, and honestly batting .235 is not fun. I know, also, that alot of the online people hated the guess pitch, but there are a lot of people (I believe most) that don't play online and like to enjoy the single player. I enjoyed guess pitch the way it was, and at the very least they could have kept it and gave you the OPTION to use it.

As far as the thread goes, I'm looking forward to arkham city, and definitely the new assassins creed, and uncharted 3. those two are my number 2 and number 3 franchises behind metal gear solid. speaking of which, not sure when the new metal gear solid comes out, but i'll be preordering that one.

I'm 20 hour into Mass Effect 2 on PS3. It's like Knights of The old Republic as a 3rd person shooter. Plus I'm enjoying the seemingly realistic scifi and explanations. It's like your not jus upgrading a weapon or exploring a planet from orbit, you read an interesting blurb about a new world.

Games I know I'll buy:

Uncharted 3

Assassins' Creed: Revelations

Diablo III (listed out of extreme optimism that it woud be out before spring)

Mass Effect 3

SSX

Bioshock Infinite (whenever that's coming out; can't believe I left it off my list)

On the Fence / Waiting for Price Drop:

X-Men Destiny

Madden / NCAA 2012

(...I'll edit this to re-list a ton of games I can't think of right now.)

Mass Effect 3 had been moved to March if you didn't know.
I knew it was moved out of holiday 2011, but wasn't sure if it fell within the 'winter' timeframe. Certainly not going to stop me from buying the game ASAP.

Games on my radar:

1. Twisted Metal-not sure how I feel with flying vehicles in the game

2. NBA 2K12-can't wait to play as the Bucks from the 70's and 80's. With the lockout, maybe I can go a season without any Bucks getting injured and making them useless to play online

3. WWE 12-new engine and includes great tag teams Demolition and the Legion of Doom in the game.

4. Saints Row the Third. I have finished all the Saints Row games, never a GTA game...nuff said.

5. NBA Jam- EA got this right now by making it an arcade game, being able to play as both of your teammates during the game, and updates.

6. Skyrim- however...just finished Two Worlds2 and Skyrim could learn a few things from that game....mainly include multiplayer.

7. Battlefield 3-I will get MW3, but nothing better then being able to blow up anything in a game, or hop a ride with a friend online and mowing down the opposition.

8. Jerry Rice and Nitus' Dog Football-actual game of football with your dog on Xbox coming out. Just seeing if you made it to the end of my list.

It does look massive. I really like the Mass Effect series though.
I reserved Mass Effect 3 back when it had a November release date, but then it got pushed back to March. I'm disappointed, but in the long run I always want more polish in the game. I love the Fallout series, but it gets to be super buggy. I wish more companies would hold back releases to work out problems.

Mass Effect 3 and I will be looking into Skyrim. Role playing games are on the out it seems.
Dark Souls is the next game after Demon's Souls. Demon's Souls is one of the hardest RPG errrrr actually the hardest game I have ever played. Dark Souls is supposed to be even harder the game is based on being hard and to frustrate you at times there is going to be multiplayer in Dark Souls also. You might want to check out Demon's Souls on the PS3 it is one of the greatest hits and is for $19.99. Demon's Souls is only on the PS3 though but Dark Souls will be on both the 360 and the PS3.

I play guess pitch off but I am pretty sure there is an option to go back to the old way. The ONLY difference I think there is that you dont see the circle blink bright red if you pick both corrrect....is that what you dont like about it? Or is there something different?

If you want the bright red you have to choose 1/8 I believe it is as the guessing pitch and location. That will give you the red dot if you guess correctly.

I will be getting Skyrim. I can't wait for it. Please keep multiplayer out of it.

Mass Effect was the most disappointing video game purchase I ever made. It was nothing like Kotor or Jade Empire, and more like "Halo With Talking". I forced myself to play for three hours before admitting that I didn't like any of the gameplay. It was made worse when BioWare decided to make more of ME but not the other ones.

I agree, that I would not want Skyrim to be like a WOW game. What Two Worlds 2 did that I liked, was that they kept the single player game completely separate from the multiplayer. None of your stats or items carried over to the other aspect of the game.

So, in the multiplayer part of the game, you had to build your character up from scratch. One mode that I liked with multiplayer was a small battle arena similar to a 3-D fighting game. Blast to do with a friend and interesting to see how a mage would fight a warrior. The other mode was a direct quest mode, where instead of being free roam, you are given a specific task to be completed with only 1-8 people on a certain part of the map. So, instead of running into hundreds of people online, you limit it to a small group fighting the hordes of monsters. I think that this would add to the replay value of a long RPG like Skyrim. Once I have completed the game, I might not want to invest another 40 hours into the single player at least right away. Also, sometimes I just have time for a quick mission, and all the quests in multiplayer in Two Worlds 2 at least could be finished in less then thirty minuets.

Well Bioware is making a new Kotor just as a MMO not a RPG. It looks to be a very good game. http://www.swtor.com/
They aren't making another Kotor, they are making another Galaxies. I doubt it will allow a pause between combat rounds. I'm sure it will be another click fest RPG-lite.

I believe it is an MMORPG. No thanks unless it has no monthly charges.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I'm pretty sure it'll have monthly charges for at least a year before, perhaps, dropping it like a lot of MMORPG have been doing.

It's probably the only game in the last forever years that I will be buying near release at full price. Almost all games that I own I buy a year or more later at clearance prices or via Steam sales.

Looking forward to it, really.
