Team Rankings have been leaked for MLB: The Show 2011

1st Red Sox

2nd Yankees

3rd Giants

4th Rangers

5th Phillies

6th Tigers

7th White Sox

8th Cardinals

9th Rockies

10th Braves

11th Dodgers

12th Reds

13th Rays

14th Jays

15th Brewers

16th A’s

17th Twins

18th Orioles

19th Cubs

20th Padres

21st Mets

22nd Marlins

23rd Nationals

24th Angels

25th Diamondbacks

26th Pirates

27th Astros

28th Mariners

29th Indians

30th Royals

I wouldn't put the Tigers, Dodgers, Rockies, or Jays ahead of the Brewers... so I guess I'd have them at about 11.

The Tigers are way too high and the Twins are way too low.

I'm sure this Cardinals ranking was done before the Wainright injury. I'd also probably swap the Phillies and the Yankees. I think the Yankees will be lucky to finish #2 in their division this year.

I couldnt sleep last nite and preordered DA2. I havent even come close to beating DAo. With The Show on the horizon I should have held off. Im a sucker for ingame freebies though.
went out myself and bought a used copy, and i'm playing through it now. I forgot how many side quests there are.

Just got done with Mass Effect 2, and I'm almost done with New Vegas. Love em both. Dragon Age 2 demo was cool as hell too. But, the game i'm looking forward to most is Uncharted 3. If it's anything like the first two it's gonna rival god of war for the best trilogy ever.

Has anybody played DA:O Awakenings? Pretty good sized expansion.

I preordered the DA2 signature edition a couple months back when they were offering it for the price of the regular edition.

I played the DA2 demo. Seems like the game is going to be very good. The mage seems pretty powerful again.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Mine is actually a Christmas gift so doing soemthing like that might seem gauche. That said don't these people realize that the included DLC is teh only difference and that's $7?

I haven't researched anything about any of the different editions yet(i won't be buying for at least a month or so) so i can't comment on the differences, but some people just get so ramped up right before release they they lose all reason and buy the biggest and best edition out there(admittedly, i was one of those people a few years ago). Some buy it cuz they want the DLC now, and are willing to pay a "convenience fee".

Picked up MLB 11 after I had lunch this afternoon. Just finished my first exhibition game. Not much to say, other than it's pretty darn awesome. It's only one game for me, but I felt like the hitting was a bit less frustrating than last season's game (I used zone controls, didn't care for the analog hitting that much). Tweaked the sliders slightly, and I was good to go. I do like the new analog pitching system. Feels more natural than the meter system. The graphics also seem a bit more sharp and players look a bit more natural than in previous incarnations.

Nice touch: Miller Park has the new scoreboard and logo above it.

Minor nitpick: No dreads on Rickie Weeks.

That's an insane deal for The Show - I'm a little miffed I bought it on Tuesday for full price... but I had a $50 Best Buy gift card...

Anyway, I'm brand new to PS3 and The Show and I played for 3 hours tonight while the girlfriend was away. So fun. I picked up the pitching and hitting pretty quickly, but I made a few stupid throws in the field and lost my first game 4-2. Then I got killed by the Yankees due to some more bad fielding, and finally beat the Mariners in my third game.

I haven't played a baseball game since MVP 2005 (which I guess I can finally sell now)... so the whole "laying off a lot of pitches" thing is totally new and hard for me. And I'm going to have to change my whole approach, because this game will be very difficult if you swing at everything.

Question for anyone who has played MLB 10 the show. I have two different TVs that I have played it on. One is a 1080i, and one is a 1080p. There seems to be a problem with playing it on the 1080p as far as timing goes for hitting and pitching. I have to swing incredibly early (like literally a split second after it leaves the pitchers hand), or I am always very late on the ball. Basically I'll hit the button, and the batter will kind of have a pause and chop at the ball. Pretty much have to flip a coin whether or not it's going to be a ball or strike, because it's impossible to react to the ball. And for pitching it is the same thing. I have to hit the button when the cursor is at the top of the arc for it to even come close to being an accurate pitch. If I hit it when it's close to the accuracy marker on the meter it'll release way too late and usually go in the dirt, or way outside or inside. On the 1080i, on the other hand, it would work perfect. I've tried everything I can think of. I've adjusted the pitch speed slider, the contact, the timing, solid hits (this bugs me though, cause I hate adjusting sliders, makes me feel like a cheater), but none of those works. Also, adjusted the display on the PS3 to display in 720p like the game suggests, and 1080i but neither one makes a difference. Anybody else have any similar problems, and if so, any idea if MLB 11 has any of the same problems? Probably not going to spend the cash on the game if I have the same problem, and I really really really don't want to play the 2K game instead. I mean seriously, It's not even comparable.

It sounds like resolution isn't the problem but the delay on your tv. My friend had this happen with rock band where the timing was slightly off. I will ask him what he adjusted.

Rock Band has built-in calibration tests for sound and audio lag since at least RB2. (My memory is that the first game had adjustable settings to deal with lag, but the current calibration tools came built-in to the RB2 guitar. I honestly haven't played RB 1 in a few years, so I don't remember how it dealt with the issue.)

Alright, anything you could find out would be cool. I can't think of anything else to try and I'm not going to buy the new one if it's the same.

  • 2 weeks later...

We are now a 3 console family. My first impressions of the PS3 are it's ok. I hate how the controllers charge. Have to have it turned on. Super lame. With the other 2 consoles if the batteries run out you just put new ones in.

I really liked Dragon Age 2. The mage didn't seem as overpowered as in DA:O. It was still pretty strong though. On the second play through it is interesting to see how your imported saves change things in the game. Nothing really big just a few different people you meet in Kirkwall.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I have a laptop in the living room and just charge my controller through a mini usb cable plugged into it. It's also close enough to the couch that, should I neglect to charge it, I can just play with it plugged in.
