Fall/Winter videogame lineup

logan82

I have to say that I am looking forward to this fall's lineup of video games. There is almost one a month for about 4 months straight.

Too Human - hack and slash with RPG stuff(Xbox360 only)

Fable 2 - RPG with hack and slash fighting(Xbox360 only)

Gears of War 2 - 3rd person shooter(Xbox360 only)

Star Wars the Force Unleashed - hack and slash with RPG elements(PS3, Xbox360, Wii, DS, PS2, PSP, wireless)

Lord of the Rings : Conquest - Battlefront for LOTR(Xbox360, DS, PS3, PC)

I will also probably look into Halo Wars, but only if the rest of the games get boring. I just found out about the Lord of the Rings game. Usually I steer clear of LOTR games even though I like LOTR. This one is supposed to be made by the same people who made the Battlefront games. The Battlefront games were some of the most fun games I have ever played.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I thought the original Fable was a very cool concept, but playing was more limited than I hoped. Fable II sounds a lot broader, but I'm guessing there are still going to be a lot of things to be improved. I love the direction its headed though.

The two I'm looking forward to the most are Lego Batman and Ghostbusters. I really hope Ghostbusters doesn't disappoint, Ramis and Aykroyd wrote the story, the entire cast did voice work, and they're basically treating it as the third movie, can't wait.

all go out on a limb and say that these are xbox360 and/or PS3 titles? The only one I've heard of is the Star Wars one, and I don't think that's coming to PC. Oh, and I guess I tried the Fable PC demo and came away semi-impressed.

Spore looks to be a great game if it can live up to all the hype that's been around it for so long.

Ghostbusters should also be a fun one. Anything with Harold Ramis attached to it has to be pure gold.

Fallout 3 and Fable II are going to be good also. Banjo-Kazzoie and Gears of War 2 get honorable mention as well.

Fable 2 has a coop mode, but you have to be careful the person you play with doesn't kill your in game spouse.

Yeah, that sounds awesome. Though they can only kill your family if you hit them with friendly fire, iirc.

With a release date that far away, there is still a chance it could get pushed back. Until there is a firm date, I wouldn't count on a game getting released. The only games you can usually count on getting released on time are yearly updates like Madden, 2K baseball games and such.

BTW, Civilization Revolutions is awesome for the Civ minded console owner..it will eat your life
Ever since I lost 2 years of my life playing Civ 2 I avoid all Civ games. Just one more technology. I almost have a Wonder of the World. 9 hours later I haven't slept and have to go to work. Great games.

Not including Soul Calibur 4 (PS3) which I'll have well before fall...

Definitely buying Rock Band 2 (PS3), Street Fighter 4 (PS3), Chrono Trigger (DS) and Fire Emblem (DS).

Probably buying Madden (PS3), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3 -- even though it's not being made by RavenSoft), Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (PS3....but only after I finally buy and play Tools of Destruction).

Might pick up Sam & Max: Season One (Wii)...or I might pick that up for PC when I get a new laptop.

Will probably get Bioshock (PS3) at some point, but not this fall / winter.

I need to see more of Ghostbusters, Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3, Naruto... (PS3), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4 (PS2), and Mario Super Sluggers (Wii) before making a buying decision.

(This All-Star game needs to end soon, so I can finish playing the games I already own!)

I just bought my Madden 08 for $10 today at Best Buy.

Since, it's the last one being made for PC, and there are several modders making a Madden 09 mod, it's a steal.

Given that MAG was entirely CGI it should look great.

Persona 4 right now is the only big thing this Winter for me. When the most exciting announcement at E3 was Netflix for the 360 (yes there's FF13 for the 360, so which comes out first: StarCraft 2 or FF13? I got SC2 Beta this Winter so a release next Christmas with FF13 maybe making a Japanese release next fall and a NA release come May) I think E3 is now really dead.

The PSN games seem more interesting than any major PS3 release right now.

Fallout 3 scares me, mostly because Bethesda has yet to write a single decent NPC and without decent NPCs and their choice for combat...

I may get Fire Emblem

I'm enjoying NCAA '09 so far, despite the roster bug. If anyone else is playing, I'd be interested in trying out the online dynasty with some folks. Badgers are #9 and PJ Hill runs over everything, so it's a good time.

I picked up NCAA 09 yesterday, but my XBOX hasn't arrived yet. I got a call while I was out yesterday saying UPS attempted to deliver the XBOX, so I should be getting it today. My gamertag is T B0NE 10 (remember the o in tbone is a zero).

Also I think you can download the rosters on NCAA now, so no more RB #39, etc

I also picked up Guitar Hero Aerosmith

Pogo,

I wish I could play the Civ Revolutions game, but I can't find it within 25 miles of my house in Delafield. I think they only made 100 copies for the PS3. After being out for over 10 days, supply should have increased to meet the demand. I want to let that game eat my life away.

I just did a search and Gamestop in Delafield supposedly has it in stock

I stopped in there and called several other times to no success. I did get one reserved at the Wal-Mart in Jefferson last nite and picked it up this morning. I will be playing in a rather short amount of time and might not see this site for a few days. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
