that's pretty cheap and cheesy from Bowden, Rijo, and anybody else. You have to be pretty low to do something like that. Wow.

Let's be ever so slightly fair the article merely stated that Bowden had been part of the investigation, which is logical if people directly under him had been doing fraudulent things. And this week's revelation about the Ramsey case should remind us the value of not jumping too far ahead of the facts. That said Brian's comment pretty much sums up how I feel about however was doing this.

I believe Bowden when he says he didn't have a part in it. I don't think he's smart enough to pull it off, even once. And he has some really horrible taste in sweaters.

If the other stuff is true, it's too bad that ex-players like Rijo would do this.

This story has resurfaced today, as the feds are now looking into this matter.

Jose Rijo has taken a leave of absence, and Bowden's "infractions" could go back to 1994.

WOW!! That's unbelievable that he could get away with skimming money for so long.

I would say this trumps anything that Alex Rodriguez has been accused of, and makes Jim Bowden a bigger crook than Junior McGee.

That's really low. It's basically embezzlement. Combined, with taking the money out of the hands of kids that could really use it.

This is a true crime that hurts other people. If guilty, I hope they all get the book thrown at them.

They discussed it on XM radio, and the player supposedly had faked his name and age. He didn't trust the family that he had claimed was his, so his signing bonus was in his biological uncle's bank account. That's why it was so difficult to track down the money. Apparently the kid was 4 years older than he had claimed when signed.
