Aaron Cook RHP (8-11, 4.09 ERA, 1.42 WHIP)

Cook has slumped recently, giving up four or more runs in five of his last eight starts. His last start was particularly difficult. He yielded nine runs, seven earned, in a home loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night. That one came after one of his better starts of the season, a home victory over the Cubs.

Milwaukee Brewers (59 - 65)

Chris Capuano LHP (10-8, 3.68 ERA 1.21 WHIP)

For the first time in six starts, Capuano did not surrender a home run, but he remained winless since the All-Star break in his last outing at Pittsburgh. The left-hander is 0-4 in seven starts since making the National League All-Star team after going 10-4 before the break. But he has been excellent over his last two starts, allowing two earned runs in 13 innings at Atlanta and Pittsburgh. He lost a complete-game effort at Coors Field against the Rockies on July 31 (eight innings, four earned runs, two homers).

I hope we can get something going against Cook tonight. He owned us on July 31st.
