Cubs going after Harden

Look the A's are just 3.5 back in the AL wild card. If they do trade Harden, it won't be until late in July after a road trip to NY and TB. If they happen to do well on that trip, they'll be in it for the long haul and they have option on Harden for 2009.

A lot of what is coming out of Chicago right now is fan appeasement. The Cub fans have been told all along that they had plenty of pieces to deal and they did have some but when Pie and Rich Hill went south along with to a lesser extent Cedeno and Murton, they are not left with much. Along come the Brewers and suddenly the fans are alarmed.

The beat writer for the Tribune was just on XM and admitted that they don't have the prospect firepower the Brewers had to go after CC or perhaps even land Harden. They mention that they could deal Sean Gallagher, Kevin Hart, and some other lower level prospects (in more of a quantity for quality deal) for Harden.... but said that more realistic targets were Randy Wolf and AJ Burnett.

I don't think Maddux would waive his no-trade to go to Chicago.

Yeah Hendry is comfirming it all. Cubs have Harden. GAH. If Harden stays healthy it's a steal considering they will control him next year. Gaudin and Harden for Patterson/Gall/Murton and a minor leaguer.

Seems like yet another steal for the Cubs........can someone give a comparision to the players the Cubs gave up with players in the Brewers system.....i.e. which of our players compare best to the players given up by the Cubs.

Boy that sure sucks!!! They didn't give up much at all for him either. Sean Gallagher, Matt Murton, Eric Patterson and the Cubs also get Chad Gaudin too!!! Why would Beane do that trade?!!?
