Is it just me or does Corey ((and a lot of the brewers...)) seem to swing at the first pitch a lot?

I actually think it's quite the opposite. In my view, they look at too many pitches and get themselves down in the count and have to go at it with 2 strikes on them. With a strikeout prone team like Milwaukee, you want them hacking early. Early in the year, I noticed when Weeks was healthy, I only saw him swing at a first pitch ONE time. He would let a fastball go right past him that he could've jacked. I don't care if he's the leadoff guy...a meatball is a meatball...swing the bat!

Last time I looked (and this was a while ago), the Brewers, as a team, took a lot of pitches. While I'd rather have them take too many pitches, in the end, I'd rather have them taking the *right* pitches as opposed to just taking to take or swinging to swing. This is a young team getting younger on offense, and if most of them figure it out on offense in the next year, it could be really good.

*shrug* then I must just remember the annoying instances when they don't.. ((Like a few weeks ago when someone walked the bases loaded and Miller swang at the first pitch hitting into a inning ending double play))

Of course, the bad does stick out more in your head, so.

Edit: And I must say the Gonzalez trade has worked out quite nicely for us.

I'm still not worried. We've got 2 more innings and it's only game 1. Didn't we lose game 1 to Houston last week then win the next two before we got Clemensed?

Let's go Billy!

as much as i would love to win this game - which i think we will - i'm still looking for every SERIES win - from here on out... if we fail tonight, we need to win the next three... but i say we win tonight and then 2 out of three... tonight is going to happen!

Watching on MLB.com -- this is really shaping up as a game where you just throw up in your mouth at game's end -- sorry for the bad visual, hope I'm wrong -- this offense is sleepwalking since Nolasco's departure -- step up to the plate with a little bounce in your step, boys!

Nothing's more deflating than an inning like the David Bush 3rd...
